Police want to remind parents and kids of safety tips on Wednesday night to collect Halloween candies.
To ensure that children are clearly visible when traveling, it is advisable to choose reflective clothing with reflective tape. The costume should be short to prevent the child from stumbling and it is better to wear makeup rather than wearing a mask to see and hear well. It is also recommended to bring a flashlight.
During the evening, children should always:
Determine a trip and an hour of return with their parents;
Rest in a group or with the accompanying adult;
Never enter the houses, always wait outside;
Never follow a stranger, whether by car or on foot, refusing to approach a vehicle or to go up without the permission of his parents;
Browse one side of the street at a time and avoid crossing unnecessarily;
Cross streets at intersections and respect road signs;
Wear a reflective vest when go out at night;
Check with your parents the treats received to make sure you can eat them safely.
Finally, the police and the assurance automobile du Québec are asking for the cooperation of motorists who will have to be particularly careful and vigilant.
