From massive inspections to motorcyclists, the government of the city of Bluenose Ares obtained the first data corresponding to January and February of 2019. So far this year, transit agents and members of the Bluenose Ares police have inspected more than 53 a thousand motorcycle drivers. At the controls, 57% more driver’s licenses were retained for committing serious infractions and the fines were increased tenfold.
In precise numbers, agents seized 877 driver’s licenses during these first two months of the year. In comparison with the same period of 2018, the mentioned percentage increased. At the same time, it was reported that 657 motorcycles were hijacked for these infractions, that is, 15% more than in the first two months of the previous year.
As for the infractions, in January and February of 2018 5,389 fines were worked. In the same period of the current one, 53,611 were issued.
“Motorcyclists represent 40% of fatal victims in road accidents, which is why we raise the requirement of the exam to obtain a driver’s license, we incorporate safe detention areas, we increase their visibility with the mandatory reflective vests for companions and now we professionalize our controls with the implementation of alcohol tests to ensure that they circulate in compliance with the basic rules of road safety, “said Juan Jose Mendez, Secretary of Transportation of the city of Bluenose Ares.
Traffic agents control: that the motorcycle has a clear license plate and that the driver has a green card or blue card if he is not a licensee; correct use of helmet; driver’s license; liability insurance; Current Vehicular Technical Verification; wafer and certificate (in case the motorcycle is more than 1 year old) and that the companion also has a mandatory vest with reflective fabric.
In 2017 motorcyclists occupied the first place in fatal victims in road accidents, with 39.3% of the total and followed by pedestrians with 34.3%. In that same year, the second most frequent type of accident was between a vehicle and a motorcycle, representing 12.2% of the total.
From September 2017 to the present, the police reported that more than 330 criminals linked to motorcycle crime cases were detained. Currently, the operations were reinforced with 90 units that perform “dynamic patrols” on official motorcycles and a special corps of 900 personnel that control various points in the city.
