Jacket Advance X-TREEm, EN 20471

At Elmia Wood, the STIHL jacket features the Advance X-TREEm jacket. The X-TREEm safety clothing was launched last year and is STIHL’s most advanced forest clothing that also won the award for design and function (IF Design Award). Now the jacket has been updated for the Swedish market, which is the only one in Europe that demands certified jacket according to EN 20471. Sales start takes place during the autumn.

The new jacket in the X-TREEm series has many features in addition to high visibility. Breathable fabric provides high comfort while keeping wet away and ProElast fabric parts for maximum mobility in all directions and high breathability. To cope with tough stresses, the clothes have ceramic-coated reinforcements on the knees and elbows and a special DotGrip tear protector on the shoulder part. The sleeves are removable for hot days and there are adjustable air holes to further enhance comfort. The jacket also has a fastening option for a hand saw protection, specially designed for arborists who work with boundary saws.

Stephanie, 25: “Very sad”

Werder is one of the highest profiles monté riders in Sweden, in 2016 she won nine races and saved just over SEK 450,000 of 91 stars.

Stephanie is one of several montérytters who have visible sponsors on, among other things, the butt.

Something that is not permitted according to the Swedish Transport regulations.

“No, there are no changes, they just have not read about the rules, it has been the same rules for over ten years, but we have noticed this now and we have informed Stephanie that it is not allowed, “says Annica Hjorter, responsible for the dresser, on the trotting union.

“Tough battle”

The 25-year-old thinks the rules limit her chances of being able to keep up the sport financially.

“It is very sad, I have lost money because I have to use a helmet cover because on the helmet I have a sponsor, which I have received a sum of money each year.”

“It is a tough blow that we must not have sponsors, where we want, on the suit. It’s boring for me, and even more boring for those who have a small sponsor who sponsors their pants and jacket to get a seat on their dress. This also affects the drivers and this sport is definitely not free.”

Stephanie highlights some examples of how much it costs to keep up with monté, especially if you have good equipment that can meet the tough safety requirements.

A safety helmet costs at least SEK 5,000, and it should be replaced if it hit the slope, it is the same rules as with MC helmets. A comfortable and good safety clothing with reflective tape is around SEK 4,000 if we cannot have what sponsors we want, and how many, so our security is also affected, as we cannot afford to pay for everything ourselves, in terms of suits, helmets, reflective vests, and travel. The dresses must withstand constant frictions, wear, a whole suit costs at least SEK 10,000 and then you have to have several different because of the wear. In total, it will be a lot of money.

“We should look at this now”

It is permissible with sponsors on the chest and back, as well as on one of the thighs, then with special dimensions, which ST determined.

Why is it so important with the sponsor on the butt and sleeves?

What is most visible when we ride? Well, that’s the butt. What is it that is filmed when we aim? The rump. You have to respect rules that exist, but I think this is a sad development, both for me and others. Sponsors are what all sports live on. Just watch the football, they have ten sponsors on the shirts. After all, it is the sponsors that help me to do this. You never get a plus on this, but you can try to have some income so you don’t have to pay for everything yourself. Sponsors want to be seen in as good places as possible, to get as good exposure as possible, which in turn can give us some financial support, that’s why they can go in with big money and think it is worth the effort. It should also be added that the sponsors I have from the beginning not been so interested in the transport, but that has become so since they sponsor me. Everyone earns from sponsors, so I look at it, hence it is sad that these rules apply.

ST should sit down and go through the problem.

We are some who will look at this now, so we’ll see what happens. As I said, there are no rule changes we make, these rules have been around for a long time, it has just been overlooked by some.

How are you going to punish offenses in the future? Fine?

“You get to talk to sports director Petter Johansson about it. I only care for the dressers,” says Annica Hjorter to Trav365.

Scania develops vest to promote operator safety

The Swedish firm developed the C-me vest, a garment focused on operator safety, which has automatic lighting when it leaves the cabin.

Through a sensor, it detects if the driver is inactive after a quick involuntary movement such as a fall. This activates the connected application to allow the operator to send a text alert to a pre-set emergency number while transmitting the GPS position.

The Android application, called Sense, can also display user data, such as the battery status, the number of times it has been entered and left the cabin, and other relevant information. With the mobile connection software of the safety vest can be updated wirelessly.

To date, the manufacturer carries out the final verification tests, so that from the summer of 2019, this vest will be available at Scania dealers in Europe.

This initiative arose as a result of the risks involved in the operation of heavy vehicles, because in addition to driving, drivers have many other tasks to do: loading and unloading vehicles, coupling and uncoupling trailers, checking and ensuring that the Cargo is properly insured, check and maintain your vehicles before starting your next trip.

In Europe, transport and storage are the third most common work activity in fatal accidents. A Danish study confirms that falls from heights that cause fractures among truck drivers are common. The analyses show that it is common for operators to fall from the cabin of the unit due to loss of balance or to get off on the wrong foot.

The vest with reflective tape is reversible with one side illuminated high visibility while the other is a more neutral gray to use when you do not work on the truck. Even without these lighting features, it complies with all established European Class 2 legal requirements for your protective clothing.

The developers have not overlooked any aspect of making this an innovative wearable device connected, including the fact that the vest with reflective material is washable when removing the electronic components from the collar.

“We see that the vest can improve safety not only for truck drivers but also in many other vulnerable occupations,” said Jonas Svanholm, Director, X-Lab, Scania Connected Services, and Solutions.

Specialist tips for drivers who stay snow-capped in the car

If you ever get into the unpleasant situation of snowing in the car, and the weather conditions are extreme, such as during a blizzard, massive snow and traffic are blocked, specialists recommend you to keep in mind the following:

1) If your car is blocked by snow, outdoors is a blizzard and there is no vehicle or heavy equipment that could carry you to the first place, do not try to leave the car in order to get to the first place. In the case of a blizzard, the visibility decreases a lot and you will get lost. In addition, the blizzard trains the snow and forms snow dunes that will stop your advance. If you are not dressed very well, that means that gloves and boots, there is the risk of getting into hypothermia within 10 minutes. Keep in mind that the outside temperature is amplified by the wind and the risk of hypothermia is high in the case of uniqueness. If the outside temperature is -10 degrees Celsius and the wind blow at 30 km / h, the human body feels as if it is -20 degrees Celsius. In Romania, during the blizzards it happens to be -20 degrees and the wind speed is 80 km / h, which means that the body will feel -45 degrees Celsius;

2) As much as possible, try to move the car toward the edge of the street, but stay firm on the surface. You will ease the work of snow removal equipment and at the same time you will be safer;

3) Get in touch with the drivers in the snowmobile cars next to you to coordinate and help. Inform the authorities at the emergency number about your situation, mentioning the number of cars and snowmen. Specify the number of children or elders in this situation;

4) If you have to wait for the rescue or snow removal teams to come in, they may also arrive within 48 hours. Most likely, you will wait 10-20 hours if the conditions are extreme, and the snow removal teams cannot reach you immediately. Statistically, in Romania, a blizzard does not last more than 48 hours for the same area. Check out what supplies of water and food are available to you, but also how much fuel you have available taking these figures into account;

5) Ensure that the exhaust pipe is not blocked by snow. The car’s engine will stop if the gas fails to get out into the atmosphere. Check this every 30 minutes;

6) Check that the part of the engine area is not blocked over the bonnet. If the air does not penetrate to power the engine, it will stop;

7) The snow will come alongside the engine and this could lead to component failure. Check this by opening the bonnet, if possible;

8) Start the engine for at least 15 minutes every hour. A modern car with a capacity of up to 2.5 liters consumes between 1.5 liters and 4 liters of fuel per hour at idle. Make an estimate of the fuel reserve you need to consume for the next 24 hours;

9) To improve the warm-up of the passenger compartment, start the recirculation function in the passenger compartment. In this way, the air already heated from the passenger compartment will be heated faster;

10) Every 30 minutes, vent the passenger compartment by opening a door. The inside volume of the car is relatively small, only a few cubic meters, and it will be full of carbon dioxide due to breathing. Do not try to open the windows, especially if they are powered. In extreme conditions, it can be blocked, either because ice is deposited on the pad or because the electric motor is exposed to extreme temperatures. You do not want to stay with an open window in full blizzard. In the case of manually operated windows, the possibility of collapsing is very low;

11) Turn on the light inside and not the hazard warning lights. Thanks to the blizzard the hazard lights will be covered. The best visibility will have light from inside. Note that there are still specialized milling machines in Romania that are quite efficient on the Zil and Ural truck with the engine located in front of the cabin. This does not allow very good visibility during snow mowing. It is possible for your machine to be hit by such a milling cutter if it is not visible. Tell the other occupants of the car how the headlights work, as well as the horn. If you are hit, you must act to signal in any way, like use the reflective vest, warning signs and to avoid a serious accident.

Daan Roosegaarde places light artworks on Afsluitdijk

Artist Daan Roosegaarde has finished his project Icon Afsluitdijk. In it, he shows with works of art how special and its surroundings are. Light is central to every work.

It is advisable to visit the Afsluitdijk in the dark one day. Then as soon as you drive up the dike, you will immediately see the first work. With Gates of Light, Daan Roosegaarde has provided the lock towers on both sides with reflective strips. During the day they are not visible on the white towers, but in the dark, they emphasize the art deco design of the towers. This work by Roosegaarde will be on permanent display on the Afsluitdijk, a nice addition to a famous monument.

In addition, there are now two temporary works of art on the Afsluitdijk. These will not just be visible during a quick drive over the dike. For the one, you will have to drive a little slower than the permitted 130 kilometers per hour. For the others, you even have to stop and get off at the Casemate Museum. Glowing Nature is on display in this museum.

Luminous algae

In one of the bunkers, a floor is provided with countless light-emitting algae. Because there is a plastic layer on top, you can walk across the floor. At the places where your feet touch the ground, the floor will light up thanks to the algae. Studio Roosegaarde is currently investigating whether this technique can also be used to illuminate cycle paths, among other things.

Energy-generating kites

The other temporary work of art is the Windvogel installation. This is a tribute to Wubbo Ockels. It consists of 3 kites that can generate energy. If you look carefully, you will see the green-lit cables at Den Oever to which the kites are attached. The cables can generate energy through the movement of the kites. This technique was once devised by Wubbo Ockels, who wanted to carry out the project on the Afsluitdijk. This artistic version of this is a nice ode to the scientist.

A lightweight, ventilated and accessible helmet

The newcomer in the range of helmets of the Italian brand, the model Strym is a mid-range proposed for less than 100 €. A helmet within the reach of the majority of cyclists, less elitist than high-end models over 200 €.

Strym has a cell and 16 air vents strategically placed to improve airflow. And unlike many mid-range helmets, this model cuts through the latest technologies for the protection of the cyclist and displays a very honorable weight of 250g.

Tested since mid-November, I have not yet been able to check the ventilation in very hot weather, but still saw its excellent design and ventilation that seems very good.

In terms of its design, the Strym has a relatively round and compact shape, with very clean lines.

Tested here in fluorescent yellow, ideal to be visible from afar, it is also available in 7 other slightly more discreet colors: navy blue, blue/orange, black/pink, brilliant red, dark gray, matt white and finally, matt black.

All models are offered at a public price of 99 €. At this price, the helmet is not made in Italy, but in China. Nevertheless, the finishes are very good with perfect control of the In-Mold concept, without any trace of glue. Only the sticker of the Rudy Project logo stuck on the front in the center seems to already want to take the powder off after 2 months.

On the ventilation side, the Strym has 16 air vents spread all over the helmet surface. The helmet’s interior is designed to promote airflow through strategically placed channels. The internal foam reduces sweat and odors. A mosquito net is also part of it, which many of you will appreciate.

On the other hand, the point of “port garage” for glasses. Even if you can put your glasses in the ventilation holes placed under the sticker RUDY Project, I can not assure that all the glasses pass there, it is not really planned for.

The inner shape of the helmet is relatively round so that a size S / M suits me (55 / 58cm) where often, I have to go on the top size because of the side edges too tight. In this size S / M, the headset, announced at 250g, weighs precisely 243g.

The tightening/adjustment system devolves to the new RSR 10 retention system, which provides a custom and comfortable fit and is adjustable over 7 levels in height, leaving even in its lowest position room for a possible tail. horse.

The closure buckle is basic but effective and there are “Pro Side” dividers on the sides which are easily adjusted in height and leave the straps perfectly flat on the face, for optimal comfort.

Finally, to perfect security, a reflective tape is placed at the back of the helmet and this, on all colors. It’s always good to take.

On the head

For this paragraph, I leave you to judge, but the Strym, relatively compact, I do not “head of the mushroom-like other helmets. Even in yellow, it remains rather sober once on the head.

I will not go there 4 ways, the Strym is a very good helmet, no apparent defect, at least on the trial period which ran from late November to late January.

With a price under 100 €, we could have expected to make some concessions on comfort including, that Nenni, the Strym is very easy to adjust and remains comfortable even after more than 3 hours of the saddle.

Ventilation is good, at least over the temperature range encountered during the test, up to 20 ° C. The airflow felt at the level of the skull promises a good efficiency even in summer. The front padding minimizes the perspiration process inside the helmet, which improves airflow.

Even in the bumps, I did not have sweat flowing on the screens. But I will not fail to complete this article once the first heat has arrived.

If the straps are not the finest on the market, the fact that they remain perfectly flat thanks to the dividers “Pro Side” does not interfere.

Balance sheet

At only 99 €, the Rudy Project Strym helmet offers a flawless helmet that is prohibitive, comfortable and with a modern, almost aero design. The Italian brand knew, for a price within the reach of all, to mix high technology, ventilation, and comfort.

No doubt, a helmet that we should meet in the amateur platoons.

Transport education and competition will be supported by the Region with 400 thousand

The Road Transport Service Center will receive a subsidy of CZK 400,000 from the Region to provide traffic education, preventive events and traffic competitions for children in 2019.

Among other things, the Center for Regional Money will buy new aids, train lecturers and organize a series of transport competitions. The grant was approved by the Council of the Charade Overlook Region.

“Regular traffic education, including traffic competitions, is one of the basic means for shaping the behavior of predominantly young road users and future young drivers, according to the National Road Safety Strategy.” The Charade Overlook Region regularly contributes financially to the organization of these activities within the support of BESIP, ”said Martin Server, First Deputy Governor for Transport.

The Center for Road Transport Services will use the money from the regional subsidy, especially for the provision of education and training of regular traffic education on children’s traffic playgrounds, including the transportation of children to the site. It will also ensure the purchase of new teaching aids. These are, for example, new scooters or bouncers, teaching and reflective materials and teaching techniques. The center will also be able to train traffic playground operators and teaching staff involved in traffic education.

Also this year, a series of basic and regional bicycles for young cyclists and regional finals will take place in the Charade Overlook Region. Summer activities on children’s playgrounds, children’s summer camps, and summer holiday recreation will also be provided. In the autumn and early winter, the center will use the remaining funds to purchase the necessary material and reflective protective equipment. Such as reflective vests and reflective tapes.

“I am pleased with the preventive projects that will teach drivers and other road users to manage crisis situations. One of them, for example, is a safe driving course for women behind the wheel, “Deputy Tailor added.

Warning vests as a symbol

More than 200 people gathered on Thursday evening to the demonstration pier on the market square. The forum asylum. Willemstad had called for a demonstration for a solidify community and spoke out against the incrimination of maritime rescuers on the Mediterranean.

Initiator Sarah Schliemann feels it is an untenable condition that people in the middle of Europe would deliberately die on the Mediterranean because no sustainable solutions for the refugees would be found. “The EU is watching over dying. But everyone can do something to stand up for humanity and humanity, “said the young activist, who for the demonstration allied partners such as the Protestant Forum, the Working Group for Tolerance and Human Dignity, Hatsheput, the Dissonances Schwa-lm-Deer work, city, and district could win.

On cold, wet winter evenings, people of all ages came together to put a signal of solidarity in orange safety vests – the safety vests as a symbol of missing life-jackets on the sea and a reminder of the necessary help.

The safety vest has a silver reflective tape that acts as a warning.

The well-known rapper Klutz Seventeen, the member of the Cologne rap group Microphone Mafia, also spoke out for humanity and solidarity. He has been campaigning against racism for many years with his lyrics, giving concerts with the ex-Turk survivor Esther Jacobean.

Hatsheput Deacon and Asylum Speaker Barn Ceding moderated the rally and called for awareness of the plight of the refugees. In an interview with two active maritime rescuers, the audience learned about the plight of the people. “Life jackets do not exist. The fewest can swim. Who rescues people from drowning, cannot be a criminal, “said doctor Florida Schultz, who has joined two missions on a distress rescue.

Two boats alone would have saved 14 000 people on the Mediterranean Sea within two years prior to settling in the ports. “Every fifth refugee dies on the way,” said Sarah Schliemann. Three years ago, Madeline Mozart fled from Kabul across the Mediterranean to Germany, narrating his father’s worries and experiences. Humiliation, exclusion, but also loving friendships were topics of his story.

Eventually, memorial candles were lit for the victims of terror and violence. The evening sounded peaceful with music by Elam Bechtel. At the beginning of the demo, a dozen counter-demonstrators with NPD posters had formed in the darkness of Sunglasses, far from the actual events. Police officers kept the group at a distance, and she withdrew.

He almost lost his life under the wheels of a truck

The Kropotkin police made the film available for the cautionary event from the Mickie street in Kropotkin.

The film shows how a certain woman, not looking ahead or if she can safely enter the pedestrian crossing, came straight in front of the oncoming truck. At the last moment, however, she stepped back, which allowed her to survive. – The main “sin” of pedestrians is to enter the road without making sure that it is safe that the car is not coming. Often, adults give a bad example to children. It is worth remembering this – appeals Pious Zephaniah, spokesman for the Kropotkin police.

WHAT SHOULD REMEMBER DRIVER AND PUSH?

Among the accidents caused by the drivers in the first place, there is a continuation of priority, in particular for pedestrians. Unfortunately, there is still a group of drivers who do not pay attention to the approach to the pedestrian crossing.

In such a situation, they should exercise extreme caution, i.e. slow down, and if necessary, stop and let the pedestrian pass. It is forbidden to overtake at pedestrian crossings or directly in front of them. An absolute lack of imagination and responsibility are shown by those drivers who, regardless of the fact that another driver stopped at the pedestrian crossing before the pedestrian crossing, decide to avoid the standing vehicle and … then the most common is the tragedy. In such a situation, the driver has no chance of slowing down before the pedestrian. There is no time left for the right response or space to stop the vehicle.

Dark, dark colors of clothes, atmospheric precipitation or fog – all this limits visibility. Any reflective material significantly improves our road safety.

While the driver is able to see a pedestrian in the dark only from a distance of about 20 m, when using the reflective tapes, the distance increases up to 150 m.
