A school bag with a back-up

Oren wants to promote reflections among students of schools. Animators dressed as fish will meet 8,300 children, tell everyone how to be safe on the road. And they will have a gift for everyone – a school bag with reflective material.

The “Let’s see” education campaign, part of the “safe roads” program, will take place in all 24 primary schools. It will cover over eight thousand three hundred students in 459 classes, including non-public schools. Children will find out why you should be visible on the road and receive a reflective handy school bag which made of reflective fabric.

The leitmotif of the action is the slogan “Let yourself be seen”, which reminds students of the deep-water fish graphics with a skylight on the head, which in the dark helps her reach the goal. During meetings at the school, animators dressed as fish talk about what to do to be visible at pedestrian crossings and on the side of the road. The schools will also set a colorful advertising campaign in which every child can take a picture of themselves. The campaign has already begun and will last until November 7.

Safe on the road

Mount Rushmore in the United States presents images of four founding fathers, presidents of the United States. It turns out that we also have our “Independence Fathers” and six of them.

It is thanks to them that we can celebrate the 100th anniversary of regaining independence by Poland this year. The joint project of the Institute of National Remembrance and the Ministry of National Education have just been summarized. A dozen or so teachers from the region received special certificates and training certificates. They will now give their knowledge to students. Such hope also expressed by Anna, who is currently.

A reflective vest can save a life, said today the youngest actor Cezary Pazura. A nationwide campaign promoting the wearing of high visibility vests with reflective fabrics among children and their parents were inaugurated in our region.

The children received free safety vests, took part in a talk on security and watched a spot with the participation of the action ambassador – Cezary Pazura. Minister of Justice Zbigniew attended the official inauguration of the event.

A seven-kilometer-long didactic-natural path was created. The route runs along the picturesque banks.

Although these areas often were chosen by cyclists – now there are also walkers. The investment created thanks to EU funds, and it cost nearly PLN 5 million. One and a half million have spent the city. Our reporter Katarzyna also tested the track with a microphone – on a bike.

Now we will move to the Municipal Cultural Center. This is where – as in any such institution – workrooms are run.

A man without reflective vest was injured by a car

Road traffic accident on Wednesday, on the road connecting Timisoara. A 63-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a car that did not notice him on the roadside. The victim went by bicycle and did not wear reflective vests.

The accident occurred on Wednesday morning. The 63-year-old man, the police say, walked by bicycle on the roadside and did not wear a reflective vest.

The one who injured him, a 43-year-old man, could not avoid the impact. After the accident, the cyclist lost his life.

Road policemen went to the scene and filed a criminal case for murder.

Vest for the little ones

Reflective vests for over three million students across the country. A social campaign called “It’s good to see you” began. Reflective vests were distributed in the city by the Minister of Justice Zbigniew and the Minister of National Education Anna. The campaign’s ambassador is the popular actor Cezary Pazura.

“Good to see you” was created for security. In 2017, there were nearly 33,000 road accidents in the country, in which two thousand eight hundred and thirty-one died, and nearly 40,000 were injured. One of the most common accidents was “hitting the pedestrian”. The action “Good to see you” is co-financed by the Justice Fund, administered by the Minister of Justice.

Vests protect life

The idea behind the campaign is to increase public awareness related to traffic hazards and real prevention of accidents. It’s about education, especially in children whose health and life is the most important, the right ways to behave on the road. Children must be safe, when they go to school, they return home from classes, leave the streetcar or bus, go through the intersection with traffic lights, ride a bike on a trip. And in any other traffic situation. Regardless of how a child moves along the way, as a pedestrian, cyclist or passenger, it should be visible to other road users. Hence the slogan “Good to see you” and a huge undertaking, which is the transfer of reflective vests with reflective materials to all students of primary schools in Poland. Specially prepared for children, comfortable and aesthetic vests (in several sizes to feel comfortable in them) are practical and above all, the most effective. By reflecting lights with an incomparably greater surface than in the case of ordinary reflectors, they allow the youngest children to be seen in conditions of poor visibility on the road, which protects them against being hit by a car. Soon this kind of vest will get, for free, over 3 million children!

Safety through education

The size of the action is caused by the threat scale. In 2017, there were 32 760 road accidents in Poland, in which 2,831 people died, and 39,466 were injured. One of the most common types of accidents was “hitting the pedestrian”. Data concerning children is particularly shocking. In the last year in Poland, there were 2 822 road accidents involving children aged up to 14 years. In these events, 56 children were killed and 3,116 were injured. This situation requires extraordinary measures that have been taken in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice. Just being visible on the road does not guarantee complete safety if the child does not know how to move in traffic. Therefore, the action “Good to see you” is not only 3 million reflective vests, but also a wide educational campaign. Each primary school student will receive a leaflet (with a lesson plan on the back). There will be “7 reflective road councils” – a handy guide for safe behavior on the road. Basic lesson plans on the subject will also be available in all primary schools – for use by teachers.

Campaign accessible to children

An equally important element of the campaign is spots and short animated films that will be shown on television and the Internet. Prepared in an attractive and accessible to young recipients form will help shape good habits among children. The point is not to give them only theoretical knowledge, but in practice to show how to participate safely and wisely in road traffic. This is how the spots and cartoons were designed. The popular actor Cezary Pazura became the ambassador and “face” of the campaign.

The campaign is to shape the attitude of a responsible road traffic participant. The message is given by four values: – knowledge – concerning the rules of participation in road traffic; – awareness – knowing, in a manner adapted to the age of the recipient, the consequences of non-observance of these rules; – responsibility – understanding that the behavior of a pedestrian on the road not only affects his life and safety but also affects other road users equally; – readiness – being properly equipped (reflective vests with the reflective fabric) and the ability to adapt to changing road conditions; – kindness – understanding that all road users have a common goal: efficient and safe displacement, which is easier to achieve with a mutual positive attitude.

Mission counteracting crime

The nationwide campaign “Good to see you” has a chance to permanently subscribe to the public awareness. The project will involve all road users to increase safety on Polish roads. It is also of great importance for counteracting crime.

Causing an accident in which another person loses their life or injured is after all a crime. Subject to the liability defined by the Penal Code, and above all extremely dangerous, because it brings often irreversible, tragic consequences. That is why the campaign promoting road safety and shaping the right model of behavior in road traffic has gained the support of the Justice Fund.

Heroes in safety vests

Safety vests are helpful – but also cool? Some first graders find: No. You should take a look at bikers!

Safety vests – are not they a blessing invention? In bright red, reflective green or neon yellow, they help to make sure road workers are more reliably recognized, and garbage collectors can change the side of the road more calmly. Railway workers are not allowed to go to the tracks without the eye-catcher. It is even severely separated: green is the security service. Red is the ones who are walking. Equally struggling runners look out, scurrying through the woods and meadows dressed in signal colors in the darkness that is now breaking in, in order to catch the attention of road users on the way there. And – little look back at the summer holidays, you get caught on the road in Italy without the airy clothes. For every human, a neon top must be on board. Otherwise, there are severe looks from the Carabineer. In short, once the warning vest had a little the nastiness of the proletariat, today it is part of everyday life, almost like the house key and wallet.

Not everyone will find the safety vest with the reflective fabric cool

But what did you hear recently at the presentation of the new school plan? If the first-graders were initially proud of the vest, which was equipped to start school, “specialists” would leave them home after just a few days. This was reported by the managing director Karl. After all, a real guy did not want to “come out” as a freshman. “I can only confirm that,” says Mayor, father of three school-age boys.

So ends the project of the ADAC Foundation, which wanted to set the security action “Accents with foresight”. Father jogs through the village with his vest, his mother rides to work, the offspring make you cool. Since all the dunning helps nothing. But wait, what is it doing around the corner? A chrome-gleaming motorcycle with a rich sound, the handlebars as high as if the stars were to be taken from the sky and with wheels like rubber rollers. The biker wears over the black leather clothing: a safety vest with reflective materials. And if that is not a real guy!

Good to see you

The action of giving pupils retro-reflective vests has just started in this district, representative of the Minister of Justice, starts.

The campaign “Good to see you”, whose aim is to protect children against road accidents, took off on Monday in a primary school. 370 students received reflective safety vests, which will reach up to 3 million children nationwide.

The ambassador of the unique undertaking is the popular actor Cezary Pazura. At the ceremonial inauguration of the campaign, guests of the elementary school students Jan, former Minister of National Education Anna and Minister of Justice Attorney General Zbigniew, Plenipotentiary for the Justice Fund Michal. Campaign> Good to see you <is co-financed by the Justice Fund, administered by the Minister of Justice – we read on the website of the Ministry of Justice.

It so happens that Michal is also a candidate from the Law and Justice party to the regional council of the Silesian Voivodeship. He starts in circle number 3, in which there is… Kunai. How did it happen that from among 14,645 primary schools in the country, a branch was chosen from the district of the attorney of the Minister of Justice?

“I do not know, I did not do it. Please, contact the press office. Especially that apart from attending the Monday party I am on vacation. During the inauguration, I was in place, but I did not take the floor and I did not want to involve it in any way with the campaign.” assures Michal. On the question of whether the choice of the place and time of the start of the action co-financed by the fund, which he himself supervises, was not inappropriate, the plenipotentiary did not want to answer and he returned to the press office of the ministry.

The resort did not answer questions about the choice of location. It only limited the statement that the action “Good to see you” is completely apolitical and has nothing to do with the election campaign” and is organized by the National Day of Life Foundation (headquartered in Warsaw). Her boss also claims that the beginning of the action has nothing to do with local elections.

“I do not understand what’s going on. The campaign began where it began. If it started somewhere else, there would probably be some other connotations. For us, the most important thing is that the children have got vests and we do not do anything else.” says Jack, the president of the foundation.

Experts have no illusions that the action of giving vests with reflective fabrics to students also had the second bottom. “I hope that, following the changes introduced in the courts, the school in which the campaign was inaugurated was chosen at random. And if that did not happen and it was motivated by political reasons, the standards of free elections were violated .” there is no doubt Symons from the Civic Network Watchdog.

As he emphasizes, the Justice Fund is identified with the candidates of one party, which is why he adds seriously that in such a situation a lot had to be drawn. “And if due to random selection, it turned out that some publicly funded campaign would be started in the circle of the candidate supervising a given program, the lottery would have to be repeated. Otherwise, these are not free elections, but elections in which politicians with the help of public money can potentially influence the election result, which is unacceptable.” adds the lawyer.

As Pieter from the Stefan Bator Foundation emphasizes, it is difficult to speak of the violation of the electoral law, because from a formal point of view, the funds of the fund were not allocated to finance the campaign of Michal, only a nationwide campaign.

By the way, once again, the question arises about the legitimacy of changes in regulations, thanks to which money from the victim support fund can be transferred not only to victims but also to very broadly understood prevention.

“I have doubts whether funds from the fund should be used for such a purchase. Even more questionable for me is the situation in which a politician builds his campaign on giving away public money. This raises the question of whether spending these resources in this school was associated with the analysis of the needs of the local community or rather the need of the candidate for a local politician. And I must assume that the latter. “says Krzysztof, program director of the Foundation. Adding that this is not an isolated case. “It only confirms that there is a lack of concern among the politicians for the common good, and more important of them is a particular interest.” assesses the expert.

This is not the first time that supports from the Justice Fund goes to the district of Michal. When in July the fire brigade received equipment financed by the fund. Everyone knew who to owe it to. Thank you, Michal, that he supervised the handover of the equipment because we got twice as much as we expected.

Is this the lightest Gore-Tex cycling jacket in the world?

The Canadian brand chose Gore’s new Active Gore-Tex fabric, which uses a waterproof, breathable membrane on the outside, bonded to a protective inner liner. This new fabric has already been used for the Gore One jacket (>100g for a size medium), and the jacket (123g for a large) – but it’s lighter than both.

It’s also considerably lighter than jackets made from older three-ply Gore-Tex fabrics, which are made by sandwiching the waterproof, breathable membrane between a protective inner and water-repellant outer. These typically weigh upwards of 200g for a similar roadie-focused, pared-down garment, although they are more durable thanks to the outer fabric.

So how did 7mesh manage to beat even Gore on the scales? Well, the design team included jacket elements that serve multiple purposes where possible so, for example, the vents also double up as pass through for jersey pockets, and the stuff sack doubles as an essentials pocket when the jacket is being worn.

7mesh also managed to reduce the amount of fabric needed to make the jacket, with smaller teams, a reinforced raw edge hem, tight pattern tolerance and custom welded zippers all helping to shave off a few grams. It still gets elasticized cuffs and 360-degree reflective tape, for nighttime visibility.

Chemical protection and high visibility

The suit combines protection against chemicals, infectious agents and airborne solid particles with high visibility.

It consists of fluorescent orange material with silver reflective tapes. It fulfills the requirements of EN ISO 20471: 2013 for high visibility clothing.

As protective clothing with a limited service life, this suit is disposed of directly after contamination or heavy soiling. In contrast, reusable clothing must be costly cleaned and treated accordingly, so that their properties even after washing nor meet the requirements of the standard.

The suit is always available to employees new protective clothing whose fluorescent and reflective materials are completely intact. Typical applications are activities in hazardous environments in poor visibility and weather conditions, such as in the railway sector, in mining, in waste disposal, and in road construction.

More security through color

The protection of children in traffic has been a major concern of the ADAC and the Deutsche Post Foundation for many years.

For this reason, both institutions are equipping elementary schools with yellow safety vests once again this year, under the motto “School in sight, Kids in view”.

The traffic officer of the local club, German Nowak, was in action as the over bigger of the useful outerwear. Sven Shih, the headmaster of the school, explained in the first two classes, which in total comprise about 50 pupils, that he promised to give presents at school. This is the first opportunity to make the promise come true.

The ADAC representative urged the children to always coat the sleeveless vests on the streets and paths from dawn or in inclement weather. “You want to experience Christmas healthy,” he emphasized. The vests are extra so wide in scope that even a thick winter jacket has space under it. With their yellow and orange vests and gray reflective fabrics, the kids could be out there for everyone to see. Even when driving a car, it is not a pity, the vest to have it. For each vest, there were special washing instructions for the parents. “The reflectors should last as long as possible,” said Nowak. If a vest is broken or lost, replacement is possible.

The children quickly moved to new clothes. To safety vests with reflective materials, they received yellow and red balloons. The two class teachers Anna-Maria Keller (class 1a) and Simone (class 1b) received a CD with songs and a book.

Road safety awareness

In order to create awareness for cyclists, regarding the rules of the road to meet the street movements of the city.

In this regard, the president of the association Carlos Mendoza said that the initiative to go forward is part of the concern about the transport problems that exist in the market, because it is not only the driver should know the rules on this issue, but also the bicycles and motorcycles must be Find out what they should and should not do when driving on city streets.

He explained that this was the first time this activity was carried out and part of his contribution to the training of citizens who were more responsible for road issues.

“Our idea is to promote road safety. Everyone must have a safety point, riding a bicycle and a motorcycle. Self-driving is not all responsibility, but also because those who use the vehicle do not include the rules that the engine must know,” he said.

Before the tour began, each participant received a reflective vest to allow the driver to see at night.
