Topic Safety: The Reflective Marking Spray

From now on, bike commuters, joggers, motorcyclists or schoolchildren can choose which places to look for reflective material on the clothes or on the bike – thus ensuring a better visibility and more road safety. The spray is simply applied to the clothing as well as other materials and unfolds its reflective effect when illuminated.

And who invented it? Holmen – a recognized specialist for surface coatings from the winter sports sector – has found a market niche with the new light spray as well as “developing a unique product that can be applied quickly and easily to various surfaces.”

Holmen sales manager Dr. Conrad: “This is a quantum leap for the safety of cyclists, pedestrians and joggers in road traffic. The Reflective Marking Spray offers a much more flexible application than normal reflectors. The desired reflecting points are freely selectable. Even large areas can now be sprayed with the spray. «

If you do not want to apply it to sports, functional clothing or hats, the spray can also spray on your bike, on shoes, helmets, gloves or backpacks. The reflective property is visible when lighting and ensures more road safety. Moreover, the spray can be easily removed with conventional cleaning and detergents.

According to Holmen, “the number of active cyclists and joggers is enormous, especially in the city center. Whether on the school, college or work route, reflective clothing can be life-saving. Soundtrack Dr. Goetz: “Especially in the case of poor visibility, cyclists and scooters, joggers and pedestrians should be noticed, so that they are seen early on in traffic.”

Holmen also thinks of schoolchildren who have to walk to the school or to the bus stop in the morning dawn. This safety spray is also suitable for them: Reflectors on backpacks are usually only available sporadically. With the Reflective Marking Spray, all areas where reflectors are missing but useful would be sprayed.

The reflective action for traffic safety

The street stepper of Michael was already two years ago the big eye-catcher in the action “Road-Mobil”. People were amazed at the unusual bicycle with reflective tape that combines the advantages of running and cycling. “Many wanted to try it out, and they found street steps fun and easy to learn,” recalls the eco activist.

Also in the third edition on Sunday, April 30, Honcho is back with his Street stepper. From 14.00 to 18.00 clocks will be held on this sale Sunday at various stands and with exciting campaigns all about the topic of cycling. In addition to information on the latest technology and safety in traffic, visitors can inform themselves about 19 bicycle routes and attractions in the region and are invited to take part in the sport themselves. The focus is on health, sports, clothing and transport.

The organizing team of the city administration, headed by Markus and Agnes Coarsens, has again prepared a program that attracts large and small visitors. Satchels should be safe with reflective tape

Safety is particularly important in road traffic. “In the meantime, the manufacturers of school bags can integrate reflective tape and fluorescent surfaces into great motifs that are very well received by children,” explains Peter Seiner.

He recommends satchels, the surfaces of which are at least ten per cent of retro reflective material at the front and at the sides. This coating radiates back when it is lit. “A further 20 percent of school tuition space should have fluorescent materials that store light and release it only slowly,” the expert said. Because of the better visibility, retro reflective material is also required on the shoulder straps. The GS mark for tested safety as well as certification according to DIN 58124 is indications that the schoolbag has the most important safety features.

It is important to pay attention to ergonomics when purchasing, as the child’s back is more sensitive than that of adults. “The right satchel helps not to strain the back of the schoolchildren too much,” said Seiner. “He has – according to the ergonomic requirements – straps on both sides, which are at least 30 millimeters wide and do not cut at the neck.”

In order to comfortably adjust the satchel for the child, the straps are at least 50 cm long, can be adjusted continuously and are softly padded in the shoulder area. The satchel fits perfectly when it rests against both shoulder blades and closes the upper reflective edge of the shoulder bag with the shoulder height.

The opponents in reflective vest hold a sharp protest

Several dozen opponents in yellow vest of presidential couple Lech and Maria Kaczynski on the Wawa Hill met on the first anniversary of the Wawa Hill funeral. Demonstration takes place under the slogan “Wawa without politicians”. Participants chanted the slogan “Cardinal mistake” and “Wawa kings, not presidents”. There was talk of verbal opponents and supporters of burial at Wawa.

Demonstration dressed in reflective waistcoats formed a cube before entering the castle from Canonizes Street. Passers gave away the flags with the inscription “Cardinal error 18.04.2010”. Among the gathered were the verbal attacks of adversaries and supporters of burial at Wawa.

According to the representatives of the “Civic Wawa” Association, which is protesting against the burial of the presidential couple at Wawa, the place and other national symbols were appropriated and used by politicians. They chatted: “Cardinal mistake” and “Wawa kings, not presidents”. A few days later – notwithstanding the Poles’ opinion – a controversial decision on the burial place of the President of the Republic of Poland has been made, “reads the leaflet of the association.

The protesters demand the depolarization of Wawa, which, in their opinion, should serve the inhabitants of Cracow and tourists. At the same time, they assured that their goal was not to bring the bodies of the Presidential couple to Warsaw.

According to the protesters in reflective vest, the quarrels of Poles after the Smolensk crash did not begin at the cross in front of the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, just from the error of Cardinal Stanislaw, the decision to burial the presidential couple at Wawa.

Will it get to a fight?

In the evening, two demonstrations were announced in Krakow: supporters of “Gazette Polkaed” and anti-burial camps of Lech and Maria Kaczynski in Cracow.

As the RMF FM learned, both manifestations may meet before the Katy Cross at the church of Sts. Diego. There are plans to move people who will come to Krakow to commemorate the anniversary of the funeral of the presidential couple. The organizers of this demonstration estimate that it could be up to 1000 right-wing activists.

At the same time, the opponents of the presidential couple in Krakow will be countered by Wawa Hill. There the demonstration will end on Bernadine Street, which is in a straight line 100 meters from the square, where Pisa supporters will be.

The Krakow municipality assures that the two manifestations will not come into contact with each other. It may, however, be enough for verbal rants. Law and Justice Deputies filed flowers – without J. Kaczynski. On the first anniversary of the burial of the presidential couple in Wawa, MPs paid flowers at the grave of Lech and Maria Kaczynski in the afternoon.

– We made flowers, we prayed for a moment. It has been a year since this tragedy. Exactly a year ago the whole nation faded here his president, a presidential couple. Time is running fast – he told reporters. “It is up to our hearts today to be able to return to these kinds of national retreats that took place here exactly a year ago in Wawa,” said Brazens in safety vest.

See how and where to place the triangle

Numbers are appalling. We lose PLN 14.6 million a day, PLN 321 million a month, and over PLN 3.8 billion a year! Yes, these are measurable losses caused by traffic jams in the seven largest Polish cities. The inhabitants of these through traffic jams lose eight hours a month! Also the traffic jams is not good for road safety, it easy to occur the accidents.

This is the fifth edition of the Deloitte and Target advisory. Compared to previous years, the situation is getting worse.

– Compared with 2014, this is a 12% decrease, which is more than PLN 1.5 million a day, PLN 34 million a month and PLN 400 million a year respectively. Moving on to the microeconomic level, the cost of traffic congestion for a seven-city passenger-traffic driver increased by as much as 18 percent and on average PLN 3350 per year compared to PLN 2848 in 2014. In nominal terms it was an increase in cost by PLN 502 per year, Member of the Board, Deloitte Consulting.

Most capped cities in Poland

The report includes traffic analysis from the following cities: Warsaw, Wroclaw, Krakow, Poznan, Gdansk, Lodz, and Katowice.

It turns out that the capital is not the worst at all. In this respect, the leading driver in safety vest is Wroclaw, whose drivers spend 8 hours and 52 minutes a month in traffic. Another is Krakow – 8 hours and 36 minutes, and then only Warsaw – 8 hours and 12 minutes. The fourth place is Poznan with an average time of 8 hours and 9 minutes. Significant improvement is seen in the case – 6 hours, Gdansk – 5 hours and Katowice – 4 hours and 57 minutes.

Unfortunately, if you look at the situation in terms of losses in the financial dimension, the first place is Warsaw. Its residents lose $ 3976 a year. On the one hand, the highest salaries (the authors of the report accept average pay in the enterprise sector) in the capital raise the estimate of the costs of lost benefits, but on the other hand, the longer time spent in traffic jams makes the drivers in Warsaw lose 70% annually average monthly salary.

In Poznan time in traffic jams is similar to Warsaw, but due to the relatively large number of drivers and lower wages annual cost of traffic jams for residents of the capital is as much as 74% average of Poznan wages.

The lowest nominal cost of traffic jams, similarly to last year, was charged to drivers in Lodz and Gdansk, respectively, PLN 2,187 and PLN 2,223 per year. However, compared to the average pay in these cities, the annual cost of traffic jams in Nod amounted to 57 percent average monthly salary, while in Gdansk it was only 43%.

Wroclaw’s record-high cost of traffic jams is as much as 81 percent. Average monthly salary per year, which consists of relatively high nominal cost of traffic jams (PLN 3 549 per month), relatively low base of remuneration (PLN 4,368 per month gross) and high and increasing time lost in traffic jams.

“Refresh” – campaign of the Warsaw ZDM

Last week was the safety of the Warsaw streets in 2013, and the authorities and the police said they would encourage the use of retro-reflective accessories while riding a motorbike.

On the ZDM website Warsaw we read that the campaign is part of the Decade of Road Safety Action 2011-2020. Officials want to focus on motorbike and scooter drivers. At the same time they admit that they are aware that the effects will not be visible immediately (if at all, given the fact that Polish motorcyclists love to go black). The campaign is also intended to encourage two-wheelers to discuss how they can improve their road safety.

The campaign’s ambassadors were Power Prussia. As part of the campaign, there will be advertising spots, and meetings will be held to address safety issues among motorcyclists. Generally speaking, safety is not just a branded helmet and stuffed with protect- torts, but also elements that allow you to be noticed on the road.

Here the choice is great – you can buy light-colored or reflective clothing and you can also wear a safety vest or reflective band. Of course, in addition to driving in the built-up area, it is worth to slow down. We know that driving according to regulations is still pathological on our roads, so let’s just say that adding up to a limit of 10 or 20 km / h always gives the driver a better chance of seeing us than adding 50 km / h or more.

Do officials and police actually want to take a more diplomatic dialogue with motorcyclists? The answer to this question will probably be familiar with the advent of summer.

The IV Reflective Motorcycle Parade with reflective vest

On the 17th of June there will be the fourth edition of “Wien by the Night”, the IV Reflective Motorcycle Parade, everyone wear the reflective vest, which is sponsored by the One Foot Foundation.

“Our goal is to spread the use of reflectors. At the moment, Warsaw motorcyclists are more likely to use retro reflectors at the moment. Our action is to show that reflective safety vests improve driving safety both at night and during the day and that they fit just as well for textile and leather suits. We are confident that our actions can contribute to a measurable reduction in traffic incidents involving motorcyclists. We cordially invite all users of wheelchairs, those large and small, German, American, Japanese or Italian. Let us illuminate Warsaw with our reflections.”

We get together on June 17th at 5pm. 21.00 on the membranes of the National Stadium, this time. Night parade will start at. 21:30. we will go through the center of Warsaw. The ride will be finished in Warsaw, under the seat of co-organizer of this year’s action – Dealer BMW Auto.

The “Wien Nights in the Night” campaign will be launched by the “Warsaw Road Safety Week“, where honorary patronage will be held by the President of the Capital City of Warsaw. Warsaw – Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz. Patronage was also taken over by the Warsaw City Road Administration and the aforementioned.

Silesian police in safety vest are offering free reviews

On Friday afternoon in Tychy started the activities of the Silesian highway “Make a free winter review”. The date of their launch was not accidental because it coincided with the beginning of the nationwide action “Zincs 2016”. Everything is regard to the road safety of road users. The action is carried out together with the diagnostic stations. From October 26 to November 4, nearly 30 vehicle inspection stations located in the 18 districts of the Silesian=, who would like to be able to check the technical condition of the vehicle free of charge before winter or on a long journey.

Controls will be:

– steering – responsible for keeping the driving direction constant or changing it according to the driver’s will, its smooth operation can help you get out of the slippery road, which is easy in the wet or slippery road in winter.

– A braking system designed to reduce the speed or stop the vehicle according to the driver’s will. Only uniform braking force on the left and right wheels allows for a safe braking maneuver in winter conditions.

– Vehicle lighting. Only correct alignment of lights and proper use of the reflective material will make us visible to others, and drivers will be able to see everything that happens on the road and affects safety.

– Car tires. When it is in proper condition, it will not allow the vehicle to lose its grip on the road in the winter, so the tread will be checked, any mechanical damage that will prevent further operation and tire air pressure.

During the action the police and the diagnose will give the drivers reflective vest, while asking if the pedestrians encountered on the road, especially at dusk, with a poorly visible pedestrian, stopped and handed him a “glare”. During the operation, everyone could use a roofing simulator from the Provincial Road Traffic Center in Katowice.

Interested diagnostic stations may still wish to participate in the action by contacting the police units in the cities in which they operate, prior to contacting the Roads Department of the Municipal and District Headquarters to update the list.

The Debate Protection Committee does not offend anyone

On Tuesday (26.07) the District Court in Bialystok discontinued the proceedings against 8 All-Poland Youth activists, who during the January demonstration CODE set up a safety vest with the inscription “Committee for Debate Protection”.

On January 9, demonstrators of the Democratic Defense Committee held “in defense of the public media”. In Bialystok, the slogan “Jar slaw Polka leave” was scribbled under the seat of the regional branch of Polish Television.

At one point among the participants also appeared 10 activists of All-Polish Youth, who created reflective vests with their own extension of the CODE – “Debate Defense Committee” and surrounded the demonstration. They were quickly turned over by the police, some of them fined.

Before the district court, proceedings were held in which the Allies were accused of obstructing the course of an unreported assembly, for which they could be punished by deprivation of liberty or fines.

– The time has come when it was impossible to express their views freely. It was on the first day of the march that all were unanimous. In this case, COA activists should count on their counterparts, “he said at the defender’s defense meeting.

The All-Polish Youth activists who appeared on Tuesday (26.07) in the courtroom unanimously claimed that they did not interfere with the manifesto’s course and quit it after they had asked the police to do so.

The court decided to discontinue proceedings in this case, the costs of the process by the State Treasury. His decision motivated the fact that freedom of speech was the right of every citizen, and the Allies did nothing to disrupt the Democratic Defense Committee’s activists in expressing their views. The demonstrators pushed them, covered the inscription on their reflective waistcoats, directed offensive words to them.

– Judgment is a testimony of reason. We did not want to disrupt the demonstration in any way, but to express clearly our views, hence the inscription “Committee for Debate Protection” – concluded Nydia from Bialystok youth district of the All Poland.
