To be visible with reflective vest for the road safety

The Luxembourg authorities are launching a new road safety campaign focusing on visibility. It is intended for pedestrians, joggers and vehicle drivers. “Think about it!” it is not an incentive to use your brain, to make a sensible reflection. Rather a recommendation of road safety, to be better seen on public roads, especially in conditions of unfavorable visibility.

“Between 2011 and 2015, nearly 65% of collisions between a vehicle and a pedestrian occurred in the dark, and in 2016, 8 pedestrians were killed on the road,” says the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure. Also, the latter has just launched an awareness campaign on the subject, together with the road safety association and the Grand Ducal police. The operation aims at a dual objective of road safety. On the one hand, encourage vulnerable road users to make them visible: in particular by wearing light clothing and even better by using reflective accessories.

Also encourage drivers to redouble their attention and adapt their speed in the presence of vulnerable users. The message will first be broadcast on social media and in the media. A campaign visual will also be displayed on RGTR buses as well as on 45 road signs in Luxembourg.

Some tips for thinking better

Road safety offers some concrete and common-sense practices to be adopted, to be better seen on the road, at intersections and pedestrian crossings. They are aimed at both the latter, joggers and motorists.

Pedestrians: be visible!

Wear clothing with reflective material, armbands, jackets, reflective strips, umbrellas and reflective pads – all accessories for long-distance viewing by motorists.

Walk in front of traffic on country roads and wear the mandatory safety vest.

Consider the speed and distance of approaching vehicles. Make sure you are seen by motorists.

Put a reflective collar on your dog.

Joggers: be visible!

Wear reflective armbands and wear clothing with integrated reflective elements.

Wear a safety vest that is mandatory if you take the road out of town.

Motorists: be visible!

Light fires when visibility conditions require.

Report your maneuvers in good time.

Adapt your speed.

Make sure windows and vehicle lights are clean.

Take into account the potential errors of pedestrians in the traffic.

“Refresh” – campaign of the Warsaw ZDM

Last week was the safety of the Warsaw streets in 2013, and the authorities and the police said they would encourage the use of retro-reflective accessories while riding a motorbike.

On the ZDM website Warsaw we read that the campaign is part of the Decade of Road Safety Action 2011-2020. Officials want to focus on motorbike and scooter drivers. At the same time they admit that they are aware that the effects will not be visible immediately (if at all, given the fact that Polish motorcyclists love to go black). The campaign is also intended to encourage two-wheelers to discuss how they can improve their road safety.

The campaign’s ambassadors were Power Prussia. As part of the campaign, there will be advertising spots, and meetings will be held to address safety issues among motorcyclists. Generally speaking, safety is not just a branded helmet and stuffed with protect- torts, but also elements that allow you to be noticed on the road.

Here the choice is great – you can buy light-colored or reflective clothing and you can also wear a safety vest or reflective band. Of course, in addition to driving in the built-up area, it is worth to slow down. We know that driving according to regulations is still pathological on our roads, so let’s just say that adding up to a limit of 10 or 20 km / h always gives the driver a better chance of seeing us than adding 50 km / h or more.

Do officials and police actually want to take a more diplomatic dialogue with motorcyclists? The answer to this question will probably be familiar with the advent of summer.

“Create reflection” – a campaign Warsaw CRB

Last week, we summarize safety on the streets of Warsaw in 2013 and the way the authorities and representatives of the police mentioned that they will encourage the use of reflective accessories while riding a motorcycle.

On the CRB Warsaw we say that the campaign is part of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011 – 2020 Officials want to focus on the drivers of motorcycles and scooters. At the same time they admit that they realize that the effects will not be seen immediately (if at all will be given the fact that the Polish motorcyclists love to carry in black). The campaign is also to be encouraging manager’s wheelers to discuss how you can improve their road safety.

Paul campaign ambassadors were Prussia and Sublime. As part of the advertising spots appear, and will be organized meetings to be moved about safety among motorcyclists. Generally speaking, the idea is that security is not only branded clothes and spiked helmet protectors, but also elements that allow to get noticed on the road.

Here the choice is sizable – you can buy clothes in bright colors or with reflective elements, and you can also equip themselves with a safety vest or reflective bands. Of course, in addition to driving in built-up areas should slow down a little. We know that driving under the provisions of pathological is still on our roads, so we will only say that adding restrictions to 10 or 20 km / h always gives the driver a better chance of noticing us than the addition of 50 km / h or more.

Are officials and police officers actually wanted to take a more diplomatic dialogue with bikers? The answer to this question probably will be announced with the arrival of summer.
