How to check the quality of the material of reflective elements?

Not all materials have the required quality. Many of the stripes after a short operation and washing dramatically lose their protective properties. Some badges or pendants initially have such a low coefficient of light return that they serve as an adornment, but in no way provide their owner with the necessary security.

  1. Evaluate the look of the patch. The surface of the material should be smooth, flexible and smooth to the touch; it should not have cracks, scratches, abrasions, creases, and bends.

  1. Check how the ribbon is sewn when it comes to clothing/backpack. Stitches should be located at a distance of 2-3 mm from the edge of the tape. This allows you to protect the patch from damage to the edges when washing or dry cleaning.

  1. The high-quality retro-reflective tape has only a fabric base. You can check the base by slightly tilting the edge of the attached stripes. The largest manufacturers of retro-reflective materials usually label the fabric base to confirm the quality standard of the tape. Also, quality certification can be labeled with the logo of the manufacturer, which are attached to clothing, shoes, briefcases. If there is a pattern on the retro-reflector, it should not be smeared and/or erased.

  1. At home, you can check the quality of the already purchased “reflector” like this. Direct the beam to the badge or patch – if you have a high-quality retro-reflector in your hands, it will glow brightly in the beam. It is important that the retro-reflector works at any angle, for this it is necessary to turn the icon or suspension in different directions, continuing to shine on them. Glow retro-reflective material should not deteriorate or fade.

How to use?

Retro-reflective fabrics on clothing should ensure that the object is visible from both sides so that a person can be visible to both streams of movement.

Retro-reflective badges or key rings should be attached to outerwear, backpacks, bags, bicycles, rollers or baby carriages, so that when moving or driving on the roadway, the headlights of cars hit them.

Use and style: 10 years Stone Island Shadow Project

The boundaries of men’s fashion are reinterpreted: Stone Island and the brand Acronym bring out the 21st collection under the name “Shadow Project”.

Innovation and fashion meet. The deep research of Stone Island and the creative perspectives of Acronym merge into another collaboration. “Shadow Project” has maintained its elemental process of development and expression over the course of ten years.

The focus of the Fall / Winter 2018 collection is the benefit. How often do we fret over patch pockets that are finally sewn up and used only as a decoration? “Shadow Project” has recognized the storage needs of the wearer and presented it as an innovative pocket scheme. Flank and fall bags allow us to stow all items quickly. Another innovation is the Encase panel, which is used for the first time to attach and detach the garment.

And the fashionable aspect? Substance investigations were carried out throughout the development of this project. The result: a completely iridescent, reflective fabric called Scarabeo. Although we see daily holograms on our credit cards and on banknotes, we are fascinated. Now we can also put on the futuristic look as an all-over print. An urban activewear collection of utility, color, and style.

The official video to mark the tenth anniversary of Stone Island Shadow Project shows the complete collection of memorabilia.

Santini provides a visible Trek-Segafredo

Visibility is very important for cyclists, Santini pays special attention to it. With the Trek-Segafredo clothing team, they emphasize the importance of visibility.

The Italian brand has designed a fluorescent training outfit for Trek’s riders and according to the clothing sponsor, visibility increases by 300%. The safety of the cyclist is not only important for Santini but also for Trek-Segafredo this has always been an important focus. The fluorescent material shines through ultraviolet rays and is easier to see than normal clothing. In the evening, however, the fluorescent material is not good enough for visibility, which is why reflective fabrics have been added to the material. With this, Santini and Trek-Segafredo also try to create awareness that, in addition to bicycle lights, clothing makes a big difference for cyclists.

The professionals under contract with Trek-Segafredo will not wear this outfit during competitions. This design is specially designed as a training outfit to increase the safety of their riders during training. Not unimportant, because even among the pros there have been a lot of accidents during training.

In one year, fines increased tenfold to motorcyclists in the city of Bluenose Ares

From massive inspections to motorcyclists, the government of the city of Bluenose Ares obtained the first data corresponding to January and February of 2019. So far this year, transit agents and members of the Bluenose Ares police have inspected more than 53 a thousand motorcycle drivers. At the controls, 57% more driver’s licenses were retained for committing serious infractions and the fines were increased tenfold.

In precise numbers, agents seized 877 driver’s licenses during these first two months of the year. In comparison with the same period of 2018, the mentioned percentage increased. At the same time, it was reported that 657 motorcycles were hijacked for these infractions, that is, 15% more than in the first two months of the previous year.

As for the infractions, in January and February of 2018 5,389 fines were worked. In the same period of the current one, 53,611 were issued.

“Motorcyclists represent 40% of fatal victims in road accidents, which is why we raise the requirement of the exam to obtain a driver’s license, we incorporate safe detention areas, we increase their visibility with the mandatory reflective vests for companions and now we professionalize our controls with the implementation of alcohol tests to ensure that they circulate in compliance with the basic rules of road safety, “said Juan Jose Mendez, Secretary of Transportation of the city of Bluenose Ares.

Traffic agents control: that the motorcycle has a clear license plate and that the driver has a green card or blue card if he is not a licensee; correct use of helmet; driver’s license; liability insurance; Current Vehicular Technical Verification; wafer and certificate (in case the motorcycle is more than 1 year old) and that the companion also has a mandatory vest with reflective fabric.

In 2017 motorcyclists occupied the first place in fatal victims in road accidents, with 39.3% of the total and followed by pedestrians with 34.3%. In that same year, the second most frequent type of accident was between a vehicle and a motorcycle, representing 12.2% of the total.

From September 2017 to the present, the police reported that more than 330 criminals linked to motorcycle crime cases were detained. Currently, the operations were reinforced with 90 units that perform “dynamic patrols” on official motorcycles and a special corps of 900 personnel that control various points in the city.

Main infractions of motorcycles

– Improper parking.

– Lack of helmet in driver and/or companion.

– Reflective vest in a motor vehicle companion.

– Documentation (lack of insurance, VTV, among others).

– Lack of patent.

– Red light.

Safety clothing of the workers prevents worse

Three workers were slightly injured on Monday, March 4, 10.18, during cleaning work on a furnace of an industrial plant in the industrial park Basel in Manchester.

MANCHESTER With hoses and pipes, they introduced compressed air into an oven at about five bars. During the process, the cuff of a high-pressure hose detached from the supply line to the combustion chamber. Through the whirling hose end, two men were hit on the head and the third on the foot. Since all three workers wore the prescribed helmets and safety clothing with reflective tapes, the persons were only slightly injured and came as a precaution to the hospitals to Chinking and Kelim. The injured are between 19 and 23 years old and live in Kelim and Manchester.

Workers are advised to wear reflective clothing when working, such as reflective vests, clothing with reflective fabrics, etc.

Free distribution of safety vests on the A6 motorway last summer

The association Attitude Prevention, created by insurers, distribute free safety vests for adults and children on highways areas of the A6 last summer.

When will these safety vest distributions take place?

7 out of 10 parents check that they have a safety vest with reflective tapes, safety equipment (spare wheel, anti-puncture kit …) and a warning triangle. On the other hand, they are only one third to possess a vest adapted to the size of their children.

In children, the wearing of the safety vest is still little known. Indeed, they are only 45% to know that it is necessary to put one out of the vehicle in case of accident or breakdown.

The association Attitude Prevention, therefore, takes advantage of departures on summer holidays to meet motorists. It will distribute free safety vests with reflective fabric to young and old.

These operations will take place on motorway areas of Burgundy: Bone Tally (A6 motorway Paris-Lyon sense) and Bone Mercerize (A6 motorway direction Lyon-Paris).

Delmonico Pawed Robbie obtained vests

According to the “Neighborhood closer to us” program, police guardians of the regions should be on the proverbial “hand reach”. Therefore, going out to the residents opposite, the district younger aspirant Pawed Robbie, thanks to the support of the Postwar Malinowski, gained citizens’ reflective vests with reflective fabric.

Powhatan Mouse is a place where there is no lack of lovers of evening walks and cyclists. There are still more enthusiasts. Therefore, in the interest of increasing road safety, especially those of the least protected road users, district youth Asp. Pawed Robbie decided to take the matter into his own hands.

Uniforms asked Stare Malinowski for financial support of his initiative, which concerned the purchase of reflective vests to improve the safety of the city’s residents. His idea turned out to be very right.

Just a few days ago, at the hands of the head of the Mystery policemen, Rostand Malinowski Pious Kołodziejczyk handed over the vests for which Robbie had applied for the district. Soon, they will go to unprotected road users during preventive actions on the road. Because as argued by the asp. Trihedron … “Visible = Safe!”

4 CUTE RELATION GIFTS FOR IN CONSTRUCTION

The holidays are coming again, and the year can almost be closed again. Time to provide all business relations and clients with a fun, fitting promotional gift: incredibly important! A gift that shows that you appreciate the cooperation, and hopefully in the future, you can work together again. But what kind of business gifts do you send to your business relations, and which gifts suit an industry like construction? Do some inspiration here.

  1. Small but fine

A business gift does not have to be big, and can easily be small and personal. For example, you can have lighters printed with a logo and possibly a nice advertising slogan. A very smart promotional gift, given that almost everyone can do something with a lighter.

Whether it is to light a cigarette or to light a candle. The best thing about lighters is that they regularly hang around at locations visited. The lighters are soon picked up by the next person, who suddenly sees the name of your company. Who knows, it may also result in new clients.

  1. Keychain

You are of course working in construction, and you can also give a promotional gift that fits your industry. How about a key ring in the shape of a house or a construction helmet? But not just a house: a stress ball in the shape of a house! Everyone has a bunch of keys, and everyone can do something with a stress ball. That this is in the form of a house or construction helmet, that speaks for itself.

  1. Cup of coffee?

You know them and you probably have them at home too: the printed coffee and tea mugs. Perhaps not directly something in which you think about construction, but an incredibly acceptable and fun promotional gift.

The best part is that you can end up in any direction with the text that you have printed on the mug. For example, print the mug with ‘cup of coffee?’ And the logo of your company. On the accompanying ticket, you can, of course, indicate that you would like to drink a cup of coffee together to discuss the next project.

  1. Safety vest

Completely fitting to the construction is the safety vest. Clients who do not work in the construction industry themselves can also use such a safety vest with reflective fabric.

Whether it is safe to cycle in the evening or to have a car in the car, they were allowed to stand on the road with pans. They can also use reflective tapes, which can be worn on your hands or feet. Of course, print the cardigan with your logo and possibly a suitable text.

How do I properly install my bicycle lights?

Thousands of people will walk up and down the promenade again this autumn, shining the light on their faces. A bike lighting is required by law – but how is this properly installed? Tips for properly attaching the bicycle lights.

At least since the time change to the winter time, it gets noticeably darker earlier. Cyclists have to fix their lights correctly or they risk to dazzle oncoming traffic or not be noticed. “The lighting should be adjusted so that other road users are not dazzled at a great distance,” says Angela Bultmann of the Minster police.

It should be noted that too high a setting lights directly into the eyes of others, while a too low setting is not detected early by other cyclists. As can be seen on a graphic by Hofstadter.ms, the light cone must be below the headlight height and illuminate more than five meters:

If you want to play it safe, make the test at home: Simply place the bike five meters from a wall on which the headlight height is marked. If the light is above the mark, the headlight must be directed downwards. If he just lights the floor in front of the wall, he is clearly set too low and has to go up.

Which bicycle lighting is required by law?

In order to ensure safe traffic, the legislator prescribes, according to the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC), a whole series of headlamps and reflectors:

– A headlight and a white reflector

– a taillight and a red reflector

– circumferential reflective tapes on front and rear tires or yellow reflectors in the spokes or reflective spoke sticks in all spokes as well

– two yellow reflectors on the pedals

Information from the police

Angela Bultmann of the Minster police points out that even drivers, for example, of mountain bikes, on which no permanent lighting is appropriate, always remember to carry a mobile bike light at dusk and darkness and attach them at the latest at dawn and turn on. Flashing lights are – in principle – not sufficient as lighting, “permanent lights” are required.

Cyclists should also remember to wear bright, visible clothing with reflective fabric in the dark, especially during rush hour traffic. Because reflectors and reflective clothing increase the safety of cyclists significantly – so they are recognized by motorists already at a distance of 150 meters.

It is important to note that a functioning lighting is required for trips during the onset of dusk and darkness. “If there is no lighting – or if it is defective on the bike, this is usually a fine of 20 euros,” warns police spokeswoman Angela Bultmann. For example, the police in Minster are intensifying checks in the dark season. For the own as well as for the safety of the other road users basically, every cyclist should pay attention to a proper bicycle lighting at his Lee.

A reflective vest disappeared from the mandatory car equipment. The ministry claims not to

With the Decree of October, there was no obligation for drivers to carry bulbs or fuses in the car, and the contents of the first-aid kit changed. Almost none noticed that a mandatory vest was missing in the mandatory equipment. The ministry tried to simplify the decree and go on the way of the Austrians. Experts, however, draw attention to complications in interpreting the law.

The Ministry of Transport has simplified the technical equipment of the car. The first day of October last year came into force Decree No. 208/2018 Coll., Which amended the Decree on the approval of the technical competence of a car and on the technical conditions for the operation of the road vehicle (No. 341/2014 Coll.). You do not have to carry any replacement bulbs that most drivers can not replace, as well as fuses or under certain conditions a spare wheel. And from the first-aid kit, a lot of things could be eliminated by the driver.

The Czech Republic was one of the last countries where the law ordered riders to carry this gear. By the ministry, the ministry has made things much easier, and it is actually the way of the Austrians, who also do not have to carry everything from the flashlight to the light bulbs, but their equipment is mainly related to the driver and is rather his responsibility to be prepared for any hardship.

But few have noticed that after the amendment has dropped out of the decree, and therefore from the mandatory equipment of the car, also recommended and experts so much discussed reflex vest. This is only mentioned in the Road Traffic Act No. 361/2000 Coll., According to which the driver must wear it if he/she is traveling on the road outside the village in an emergency. In the municipality, the obligation to wear reflective tapes does not apply.

Fraud experts criticize the law because this innovation can lead to speculation in both roadside and roadside checks, but also to reduce road safety.

“I’m surprised that almost no one noticed. Everyone, following the amendment of this Decree, limited itself to information on incandescent lamps, fuses, and the contents of the first aid kit. Thanks to this we almost missed a big topic of visibility of road users and possible complications associated with the missing vest in the vehicle, “commented Martin Bedded, a transport specialist from Dekra, who pointed out in the paragraphs.

He added that it is imperative to alert the driver to the absence of a vest, as it should be clearly and completely defined in the decree, in order to avoid speculations and interpretations of the law in practice. Now, the driver needs to have a vest in the car.

The ministry insists that the vest is part of the mandatory equipment. However, there is no de facto rule in the decree. The editors of iDNES., therefore, asked for the interpretation of Michael Dlabol’s transport law expert. “It is necessary to distinguish between compulsory equipment, ie between what must always be in the vehicle and between what the driver must wear sometimes. And since the reflective vest from October 1, 2018, fell out of the decree on the approval of technical competence and technical conditions for the operation of vehicles on the road, there is no doubt that it is no longer part of the mandatory equipment, “Dlabola pointed out.

This is equally perceived by transport expert Roman Budsky from the new security platform Vision Zero. “Reflective vest is no longer listed in mandatory vehicle equipment. It’s hard to say whether this is a mistake or intention on the part of the ministry, “he said.

The topic of visibility is often discussed and road safety experts often remind the vest. In addition, since February 2016, the Czech Republic has introduced an obligation to provide retro-reflective fabric for pedestrians outside the village. “For this reason, the absence of a reflective vest in the mandatory equipment of the vehicle seems to be a mistake. If the fault actually occurred, immediate remedy is in place, “Bednar recalls.

What does it mean in practice? The driver does not have to carry her in the car. “This means that if a driver does anything other than to move on a road outside the village in an emergency because of an accident, a break or nausea, no one can be penalized and fined for not having a reflective vest in the vehicle. The police can not blame the driver even if he is in an emergency in the village or if he is out of the village, but he will not be on the road, “Michal Dlabola, law expert on traffic law, explained.

Because the vest is not listed directly in the decree, the technicians should not be interested in the technical equipment of the vehicle, who should not be involved in the technical examination of the car, and thus threaten the driver that his car will not pass the STK due to the missing vest. Controls are subject to mandatory items only.
