What and where reflectors sell

The proposed range can be divided into two parts. The first – ready-made flickers in the form of icons under the original name “Reflective”. Various options are offered: a green man figurine, a soccer ball, butterfly. Restless children hooligans may be interested in products in the form of a skull. Little is issued from the total number of non-child version of the “four heels in one bed”. Probably for high school students.

A small minus of the light reflectors – fastening in the form of a chain. It can be attached to the backpack strap, bag handle. But to find a place for mounting on clothes is more difficult, you have to show a little imagination.

“Light reflectors” sold in Pskov hypermarkets. True, for some reason, at different prices. For example, in Imperial, the flicker cost is 57 rubles 40 kopecks, and in Trolley it is 50 rubles 80 kopecks. Interestingly, in different stores, the goods are distributed to different departments. In the “Imperial” and “Trolley” flickers should be sought in electrical goods and lanterns, and in the “Ribbon” – in children’s clothing. Here you can find and reflective vests, but this is a topic for another conversation.

In a word, light reflectors are sold in hypermarkets for time-saving people. Bought, attached and went further on the shelves to scour.

For more thoughtful and visionary consumers, there is a second option. More economical, but requires the application of their own efforts in the form of scissors, threads, and needles.

In any department for needlework among the threads and beads, there are reflective materials. The assumption was confirmed in the first two departments.

In the shopping center on J. Fabricius, 5-a, reflective tapes of different widths are sold. Cost from 25 to 40 rubles per square meter. In the department for sewing trading house-shed “Timokhin” gray tape 25 mm wide costs 15 rubles a meter.

The last store also showed a wide selection of reflective stripes on clothes for children and for adults. Variations from football and road signs to doggies. The patch for the price is comparable to the hypermarket flicker or more expensive, but it can be sewn to the clothes.

The variant with stripes and ribbons seems to us more effective. The flicker on the bag handle can be closed from the driver’s view. For example, if you cross the road with a bag in your left hand, and transport is approaching on the right. Manufacturers recommend placing light reflectors in such a way that they are visible both from behind and from the front.

“Pachem not wearing?”

One small problem remains – how to put pedestrians in reflectors. Remember the joke about the female breast? “Do you have it?” Pachem do not wear? In the Pskov region in the fall for school children purchased reflective elements. Only kids for some reason continue to wander in the dark.

There are several opinions on the topic of mandatory wearing flicker.

The first. The most common and wrong is to leave everything as it is.

Cons – almost daily incidents on the roads of the Pskov region.

The second. The ban on movement without a flicker in the dark.

Advantages: improved visibility of pedestrians and, as a consequence, a decrease in accidents, additional profit for manufacturers of reflectors, budget revenues from fines. Cons: negative public opinion by the dense part of the population. They say that there is nothing to pay for the apartments, but there are still some reflectors to wear. To change the legal awareness of the grandmothers and aunts brought up in the village, who crawl along the road inconvenient places, cannot easily be achieved with fines. The state will have to invest a little in social advertising. Tipo, chest in reflective crosses or head in the bushes. Youth can be stimulated by showing fashionable clothes with light reflectors.

Finally, the third option. Violent people flicker is not necessary, we go our own way. We introduce a new standard for clothing, at least for children. The offer is certainly reasonable. Anyone used to wearing stripes from childhood will teach their children to do so.

In any case, it’s not worth waiting until the state thinks about you and forces manufacturers to produce clothes only with reflective fabrics. Everyone should think about their own security.

Vest for the little ones

Reflective vests for over three million students across the country. A social campaign called “It’s good to see you” began. Reflective vests were distributed in the city by the Minister of Justice Zbigniew and the Minister of National Education Anna. The campaign’s ambassador is the popular actor Cezary Pazura.

“Good to see you” was created for security. In 2017, there were nearly 33,000 road accidents in the country, in which two thousand eight hundred and thirty-one died, and nearly 40,000 were injured. One of the most common accidents was “hitting the pedestrian”. The action “Good to see you” is co-financed by the Justice Fund, administered by the Minister of Justice.

Vests protect life

The idea behind the campaign is to increase public awareness related to traffic hazards and real prevention of accidents. It’s about education, especially in children whose health and life is the most important, the right ways to behave on the road. Children must be safe, when they go to school, they return home from classes, leave the streetcar or bus, go through the intersection with traffic lights, ride a bike on a trip. And in any other traffic situation. Regardless of how a child moves along the way, as a pedestrian, cyclist or passenger, it should be visible to other road users. Hence the slogan “Good to see you” and a huge undertaking, which is the transfer of reflective vests with reflective materials to all students of primary schools in Poland. Specially prepared for children, comfortable and aesthetic vests (in several sizes to feel comfortable in them) are practical and above all, the most effective. By reflecting lights with an incomparably greater surface than in the case of ordinary reflectors, they allow the youngest children to be seen in conditions of poor visibility on the road, which protects them against being hit by a car. Soon this kind of vest will get, for free, over 3 million children!

Safety through education

The size of the action is caused by the threat scale. In 2017, there were 32 760 road accidents in Poland, in which 2,831 people died, and 39,466 were injured. One of the most common types of accidents was “hitting the pedestrian”. Data concerning children is particularly shocking. In the last year in Poland, there were 2 822 road accidents involving children aged up to 14 years. In these events, 56 children were killed and 3,116 were injured. This situation requires extraordinary measures that have been taken in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice. Just being visible on the road does not guarantee complete safety if the child does not know how to move in traffic. Therefore, the action “Good to see you” is not only 3 million reflective vests, but also a wide educational campaign. Each primary school student will receive a leaflet (with a lesson plan on the back). There will be “7 reflective road councils” – a handy guide for safe behavior on the road. Basic lesson plans on the subject will also be available in all primary schools – for use by teachers.

Campaign accessible to children

An equally important element of the campaign is spots and short animated films that will be shown on television and the Internet. Prepared in an attractive and accessible to young recipients form will help shape good habits among children. The point is not to give them only theoretical knowledge, but in practice to show how to participate safely and wisely in road traffic. This is how the spots and cartoons were designed. The popular actor Cezary Pazura became the ambassador and “face” of the campaign.

The campaign is to shape the attitude of a responsible road traffic participant. The message is given by four values: – knowledge – concerning the rules of participation in road traffic; – awareness – knowing, in a manner adapted to the age of the recipient, the consequences of non-observance of these rules; – responsibility – understanding that the behavior of a pedestrian on the road not only affects his life and safety but also affects other road users equally; – readiness – being properly equipped (reflective vests with the reflective fabric) and the ability to adapt to changing road conditions; – kindness – understanding that all road users have a common goal: efficient and safe displacement, which is easier to achieve with a mutual positive attitude.

Mission counteracting crime

The nationwide campaign “Good to see you” has a chance to permanently subscribe to the public awareness. The project will involve all road users to increase safety on Polish roads. It is also of great importance for counteracting crime.

Causing an accident in which another person loses their life or injured is after all a crime. Subject to the liability defined by the Penal Code, and above all extremely dangerous, because it brings often irreversible, tragic consequences. That is why the campaign promoting road safety and shaping the right model of behavior in road traffic has gained the support of the Justice Fund.

Heroes in safety vests

Safety vests are helpful – but also cool? Some first graders find: No. You should take a look at bikers!

Safety vests – are not they a blessing invention? In bright red, reflective green or neon yellow, they help to make sure road workers are more reliably recognized, and garbage collectors can change the side of the road more calmly. Railway workers are not allowed to go to the tracks without the eye-catcher. It is even severely separated: green is the security service. Red is the ones who are walking. Equally struggling runners look out, scurrying through the woods and meadows dressed in signal colors in the darkness that is now breaking in, in order to catch the attention of road users on the way there. And – little look back at the summer holidays, you get caught on the road in Italy without the airy clothes. For every human, a neon top must be on board. Otherwise, there are severe looks from the Carabineer. In short, once the warning vest had a little the nastiness of the proletariat, today it is part of everyday life, almost like the house key and wallet.

Not everyone will find the safety vest with the reflective fabric cool

But what did you hear recently at the presentation of the new school plan? If the first-graders were initially proud of the vest, which was equipped to start school, “specialists” would leave them home after just a few days. This was reported by the managing director Karl. After all, a real guy did not want to “come out” as a freshman. “I can only confirm that,” says Mayor, father of three school-age boys.

So ends the project of the ADAC Foundation, which wanted to set the security action “Accents with foresight”. Father jogs through the village with his vest, his mother rides to work, the offspring make you cool. Since all the dunning helps nothing. But wait, what is it doing around the corner? A chrome-gleaming motorcycle with a rich sound, the handlebars as high as if the stars were to be taken from the sky and with wheels like rubber rollers. The biker wears over the black leather clothing: a safety vest with reflective materials. And if that is not a real guy!

Chemical protection and high visibility

The suit combines protection against chemicals, infectious agents and airborne solid particles with high visibility.

It consists of fluorescent orange material with silver reflective tapes. It fulfills the requirements of EN ISO 20471: 2013 for high visibility clothing.

As protective clothing with a limited service life, this suit is disposed of directly after contamination or heavy soiling. In contrast, reusable clothing must be costly cleaned and treated accordingly, so that their properties even after washing nor meet the requirements of the standard.

The suit is always available to employees new protective clothing whose fluorescent and reflective materials are completely intact. Typical applications are activities in hazardous environments in poor visibility and weather conditions, such as in the railway sector, in mining, in waste disposal, and in road construction.

More security through color

The protection of children in traffic has been a major concern of the ADAC and the Deutsche Post Foundation for many years.

For this reason, both institutions are equipping elementary schools with yellow safety vests once again this year, under the motto “School in sight, Kids in view”.

The traffic officer of the local club, German Nowak, was in action as the over bigger of the useful outerwear. Sven Shih, the headmaster of the school, explained in the first two classes, which in total comprise about 50 pupils, that he promised to give presents at school. This is the first opportunity to make the promise come true.

The ADAC representative urged the children to always coat the sleeveless vests on the streets and paths from dawn or in inclement weather. “You want to experience Christmas healthy,” he emphasized. The vests are extra so wide in scope that even a thick winter jacket has space under it. With their yellow and orange vests and gray reflective fabrics, the kids could be out there for everyone to see. Even when driving a car, it is not a pity, the vest to have it. For each vest, there were special washing instructions for the parents. “The reflectors should last as long as possible,” said Nowak. If a vest is broken or lost, replacement is possible.

The children quickly moved to new clothes. To safety vests with reflective materials, they received yellow and red balloons. The two class teachers Anna-Maria Keller (class 1a) and Simone (class 1b) received a CD with songs and a book.

Mototaxis drivers sensitized in Douala

According to a recent report, 23% of traffic deaths occur among motorcyclists.

Around the world, 3,400 people die every day on the roads. Recent studies have shown that 23% of traffic deaths occur among motorcyclists. In Cameroon in general, and in the city of Douala in particular, the figures for motorcyclists’ accidents are becoming more and more important, because of the limited knowledge that drivers of these two-wheeled vehicles have about road safety. Still across the national triangle, 70% of the causes of traffic accidents are human. “Motorcycles face higher hazards than cars and other vehicles. In fact, the reduced size and less stable nature of the motorcycle, the potholes, the uneven heights between the tracks and other irregularities or objects expected on the road pose a serious threat to the safety of the motorcyclists, “Kaman observes. Kiore Maura, Managing Director of Guinness Cameroon SA.

The boss of the brewery apartment company Diageo group was speaking during a sensitization session for motorbike drivers organized by its structure on Saturday, October 14, 2017, in Douala. The event is chaired by Kim Noun Nana Thierry, secretary general of the Littoral region and representative of the governor in the proceedings room of the company based in Bassa district, gathered more than a hundred drivers residing in Douala. Guinness Cameroon SA also took the opportunity to give these carriers safety vests. According to the boss of Guinness Cameroon, this is an effective tool for reducing the risk of accidents because it allows day and night for the person riding the bike to enjoy greater visibility on the road.

An initiative that beneficiaries has not failed to salute. “Your commitment is proof that we can count on Guinness Cameroon,” said Willy Kennel, president of the motorcycle drivers of Douala 5th district. The latter took the opportunity to call the brewery to accompany the “bounciness” of Douala in the process of obtaining driving licenses. While recalling the importance of the mode of transport by motorcycle in the city of Douala and in the remote areas, the secretary general of the Littoral region called the beneficiaries of these chasubles to make good use of it. “These chasubles are not just clothes. I invite you to make good use of reflective materials to reduce the accident rate in Cameroon. “said Kim Noun Nana Thierry.

In five years, Guinness Cameroon says it has already distributed nearly 200 miles of high visibility vests to motorcycle drivers in Cameroon. “We are trying to do our best to assist the state in this effort to secure the road,” said the CEO of Guinness Cameroon. Throughout his speech, he has repeatedly called on motorcycle drivers to avoid any alcohol consumption when they are called to drive. The representative of the regional delegation of the Littoral transport at this event hailed this initiative which frames according to him with the objectives fixed by the Ministry of Transport.

Young Poland is going to school safely

With the start of the school year in 2018/2019 – the nationwide campaign “Safe road to school” has started.

This is the fifth edition of the largest educational campaign in the country. Will be conducted in September and October, and during its duration children learn about the principles of safe movement under the roads. They will also receive reflective vests and a colorful lesson plan.

Ericka is a trademark of the PSB chain of stores belonging to the Pulaski Group. Let us remind you that last year 53 shops took part in the campaign, in cooperation with 153 educational institutions in Poland.

Almost 10,000 children from kindergartens and primary schools had the opportunity to get acquainted with road signs and the basic rules of safe movement on the street; especially when crossing the road on the way to school. After training the kids received reflective elements: key chains, special armbands, high visibility vests which are all made of reflective materials – thanks to which they will be more visible on the road.

“This year, we expect an even greater involvement of the PSB network in the educational campaign for children, which will last for September and October. In addition, the children will receive a lesson plan.” says Marlene, spokesman for the PSB Handel SA Group.

This is the fifth edition of the “Safe Way to School” campaign, which every year is received with great enthusiasm both by schools, police, parents, and above all by the youngest participants. Its scope is constantly expanding – the action goes to various parts of the country.

542 participants of the rally

On Sunday, the 1st Cycling Partnership Tychy took place to commemorate the patrons of the cities of Saint Christopher and St. Valentine. At the same time, the rally started the European Week of Sustainable Transport, which ends on September 22. In the event organized by the City of Tychy and the Sports Association NOL-TYCHY, 542 cyclists took part in the patronage of the Metropolis.

Tychy is a city that loves sports and outdoor activities, which is why we have been making sure that cyclists feel good in it for many years. Thinking about them, we have created numerous bike paths, bicycle repair stations, and pump track for those who like extreme emotions and challenges. The “Rowe love Tychy” campaign allowed the Tashkent to love two wheels even more, while “Task Rower” gave them an opportunity for unlimited cycling trips around the city, as well as alternative, ecological transport to school or work – President Andrej Dinuba enumerated.

The event had its start at Gemini Park Tychy, where participants received starter packages, which included a reflective vest and band, an information bulletin and drinks prepared by sponsors. – Such rallies have their overriding goals, above all the promotion of an alternative means of communication, but also security. Thanks to such events, more people move in reflections, like high visibility vests and helmets with reflective materials which positively affect the safety of road users – emphasized Michal, Councilor of Tychy and organizer of the event.

The pleasure of cycling is appreciated by the residents of our city every day, which is especially evident during the annual Family Bike Rally, which this year was organized for the 19th time, and in which 850 people took part. This year, the city of Beirut organizes or co-organizes a record number of bicycle events inviting all lovers of two wheels on its bike routes – added Kristina, the mayor of the town of Beirut.

Then, under the escort of the police and the city guard, they moved to the halfway point in Beirut. At the halfway point, concert contests and a meal funded by DANONE were waiting for cyclists. The finish line took place at the Municipal Stadium in Tychy, where cyclists not only could eat a tasty bison and cold non-alcoholic beer but also take part in the free time fairs.

Unprotected road users

Today, traffic police throughout the country conduct national control and prevention activities in the name of “unprotected road users”. They are designed to improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists – these road users are particularly vulnerable to the tragic consequences of these events in accidents.

During the course of the operation, the supervision will cover areas that are particularly dangerous for pedestrians. That is, passages where pedestrians are detained through busy roads. Police officers will pay attention to whether drivers are trying to use “stronger laws” related to pedestrians, such as exercising priority at a crossroads, especially during so-called “green arrows”.

We remind managers that the school year has begun and that children and adolescents can be found on the roads near the school. These are road users who should be given special attention. It happens that children, especially when they move around in a group and focus on conversation. They act unscrupulously, such as crossing the road or walking the wrong road.

Currently, the police are carrying out activities “safe way to go to school” focusing on the safety of children and adolescents near the school. We are promoting the drivers so they can drive carefully and focus on the youngest participants in the movement.

Regardless of the season, the driver should clearly see unprotected road users. Therefore, pedestrians must wear reflective vests, especially where required by regulations, that is, after darkness outside the building area. Remember, when preparing a school for beginners, be sure to put a reflective element(like reflective vests or reflective tapes) on his coat.

The use of reflective materials increases the visibility of the pedestrian several times, giving the driver more time to perform the manipulation of the pass or brake.
