Good to see you

The action of giving pupils retro-reflective vests has just started in this district, representative of the Minister of Justice, starts.

The campaign “Good to see you”, whose aim is to protect children against road accidents, took off on Monday in a primary school. 370 students received reflective safety vests, which will reach up to 3 million children nationwide.

The ambassador of the unique undertaking is the popular actor Cezary Pazura. At the ceremonial inauguration of the campaign, guests of the elementary school students Jan, former Minister of National Education Anna and Minister of Justice Attorney General Zbigniew, Plenipotentiary for the Justice Fund Michal. Campaign> Good to see you <is co-financed by the Justice Fund, administered by the Minister of Justice – we read on the website of the Ministry of Justice.

It so happens that Michal is also a candidate from the Law and Justice party to the regional council of the Silesian Voivodeship. He starts in circle number 3, in which there is… Kunai. How did it happen that from among 14,645 primary schools in the country, a branch was chosen from the district of the attorney of the Minister of Justice?

“I do not know, I did not do it. Please, contact the press office. Especially that apart from attending the Monday party I am on vacation. During the inauguration, I was in place, but I did not take the floor and I did not want to involve it in any way with the campaign.” assures Michal. On the question of whether the choice of the place and time of the start of the action co-financed by the fund, which he himself supervises, was not inappropriate, the plenipotentiary did not want to answer and he returned to the press office of the ministry.

The resort did not answer questions about the choice of location. It only limited the statement that the action “Good to see you” is completely apolitical and has nothing to do with the election campaign” and is organized by the National Day of Life Foundation (headquartered in Warsaw). Her boss also claims that the beginning of the action has nothing to do with local elections.

“I do not understand what’s going on. The campaign began where it began. If it started somewhere else, there would probably be some other connotations. For us, the most important thing is that the children have got vests and we do not do anything else.” says Jack, the president of the foundation.

Experts have no illusions that the action of giving vests with reflective fabrics to students also had the second bottom. “I hope that, following the changes introduced in the courts, the school in which the campaign was inaugurated was chosen at random. And if that did not happen and it was motivated by political reasons, the standards of free elections were violated .” there is no doubt Symons from the Civic Network Watchdog.

As he emphasizes, the Justice Fund is identified with the candidates of one party, which is why he adds seriously that in such a situation a lot had to be drawn. “And if due to random selection, it turned out that some publicly funded campaign would be started in the circle of the candidate supervising a given program, the lottery would have to be repeated. Otherwise, these are not free elections, but elections in which politicians with the help of public money can potentially influence the election result, which is unacceptable.” adds the lawyer.

As Pieter from the Stefan Bator Foundation emphasizes, it is difficult to speak of the violation of the electoral law, because from a formal point of view, the funds of the fund were not allocated to finance the campaign of Michal, only a nationwide campaign.

By the way, once again, the question arises about the legitimacy of changes in regulations, thanks to which money from the victim support fund can be transferred not only to victims but also to very broadly understood prevention.

“I have doubts whether funds from the fund should be used for such a purchase. Even more questionable for me is the situation in which a politician builds his campaign on giving away public money. This raises the question of whether spending these resources in this school was associated with the analysis of the needs of the local community or rather the need of the candidate for a local politician. And I must assume that the latter. “says Krzysztof, program director of the Foundation. Adding that this is not an isolated case. “It only confirms that there is a lack of concern among the politicians for the common good, and more important of them is a particular interest.” assesses the expert.

This is not the first time that supports from the Justice Fund goes to the district of Michal. When in July the fire brigade received equipment financed by the fund. Everyone knew who to owe it to. Thank you, Michal, that he supervised the handover of the equipment because we got twice as much as we expected.

50 safety vests for kindergarten

A bicycle day is common for the kids of the Kindergarten. Once a month he is on the program. However, head Silke Lange admits to our newspaper that it was somewhat problematic in the last six months. The public road behind the kindergarten cannot be easily blocked… Now, the parking lot or the fire department area.

Yesterday, however, the day was very special, even if you could not use the wheels because of the weather. In the morning, namely the children got a visit from the company of ATU. Representatives of the workshop and retail chain brought the children 50 reflective safety vests. Proud as the Spaniards, the little ones ran around in the facility. And so that they were used symbolically right, the educators played a video for traffic safety to the little ones. The so-called melon test showed how wearing a helmet and a vest with reflective tape affects one’s own safety and learned other important things about behavior on the road.

Not only the children, but also Silke Lange, were happy about the present. Therefore, the institution had applied last year in the ATU campaign fireflies. It did not work out. It was successful this year. Of the 105 registered children, 30 are new school children – for whom the reflective vest plays a major role. But you can also use them differently, for example, during trips to the kindergarten, in order to recognize the registered children immediately.

Reflective vests and a fire extinguisher

You must have two dyadic glass in Spain, a biker must wear a set of clothes in Belgium, and when you park the vehicle in Estonia on a hill, you must secure it with a wedge. Did you know that? For all the differences in the required equipment, we have focused and made a comprehensive overview for you.

Frequently, the driver thinks he or she is required to carry out the required equipment, as in the Czech Republic, and argues this fact either by the Vienna Convention or the Geneva Convention. The problem is that these conventions only mention the technical equipment of the vehicle, not mandatory equipment of the vehicle. Therefore, we have to equip the vehicle differently in every state.

Belgium

Motorcyclists must wear protective clothing: gloves, jacket with long sleeves, trousers with long trousers and ankle protection shoes. The reflective vest is mandatory only for motor vehicle drivers. The fire extinguisher is mandatory for vehicles registered in Belgium, for foreign vehicles it is only a recommendation.

Bulgaria

All vehicles, except motorcycles, must be equipped with a fire extinguisher. Reflective safety vests are mandatory for anyone who comes out of the vehicle during an emergency, even for bikers.

Croatia

Children under the age of 12 must not travel to the front seats. An exception is children up to 2 years of age in the “egg” and the airbag off. Motorcycles or mopeds are not allowed to carry children under 12 years of age. Vehicles with a trailer must have 2 triangles. The reflective clothing is mandatory only for motor vehicle drivers.

A safety vest with built-in LED lighting

“I thought it would be even more convenient to wear the LED light on my clothes. Then I would have enough light everywhere, “says Dickens. At the kitchen table, he further developed his idea of a safety vest with built-in LED lighting.

The project gained momentum after Sickens spoke about it on a birthday with a firefighter present. “He said that they had been looking for something like that for years. Reflective vests are only visible when light shines on them. ”

Sickens received business and financial support from his father-in-law and his business partner. The first fifty luminous reflective safety vests were for the Rotterdam Fire Brigade. Without any marketing campaign, new applications came in from, among other things, shipping and road construction.

The 30-year-old entrepreneur is aware that his idea is actually very simple. “But it was not there yet and there is a lot of demand for it. Just like the paper clip. “He now has a patent and patent on the light vest.

The vest has a rechargeable battery that is fully within two hours and the LED light burns for 100 hours. Despite all electronics, it weighs only three hundred grams. According to Sickens, the vests, which are made in factories in Tilburg and Niemen, cannot be destroyed. “LED lighting lasts sixty thousand hours and we give a two-year warranty.”

The company has 69 different versions in the range, which can be washed out thanks to a special coating on the electronics. “The color of the vest, reflective tapes and the placement and color of the light differ,” says the young entrepreneur. “For staff who have to crawl through sewer pipes, there are vests with shoulder lighting so they always have enough visibility. Vests for crane operators have red lighting so that they can be clearly seen from the ground. ”

The vest meets almost all known safety labels. Only for the petrochemical industry. Strict requirements apply in that sector. For example, the vest must be explosion-proof. Sickens expects to have this quality mark in early 2018.
