The reflective action for traffic safety

The street stepper of Michael was already two years ago the big eye-catcher in the action “Road-Mobil”. People were amazed at the unusual bicycle with reflective tape that combines the advantages of running and cycling. “Many wanted to try it out, and they found street steps fun and easy to learn,” recalls the eco activist.

Also in the third edition on Sunday, April 30, Honcho is back with his Street stepper. From 14.00 to 18.00 clocks will be held on this sale Sunday at various stands and with exciting campaigns all about the topic of cycling. In addition to information on the latest technology and safety in traffic, visitors can inform themselves about 19 bicycle routes and attractions in the region and are invited to take part in the sport themselves. The focus is on health, sports, clothing and transport.

The organizing team of the city administration, headed by Markus and Agnes Coarsens, has again prepared a program that attracts large and small visitors. The district of Gutersloh informs about “visibility in road traffic” and offers reflective materials and bicycle helmets for purchase. There is also a bicycle / scooter course for the children. The group “Silent by OWL” presents a cross-section of alternative vehicle technology. The Automats showcases Opel cars, including the Mock X with the unique carrier system, which is ready for use as an integrated bicycle carrier system at any time. The AOK North-West offers a lung function measurement and provides valuable information on a healthy diet for endurance sports.

On the Info stand there is among other things the tour program 2017 with 46 guided bike tours. Nova GmbH provides information on the use of self-generated electricity in domestic appliances as well as current storage facilities and charging systems / columns for charging electric vehicles. The VW Beetle was built in 1970 and has been converted to an electric drive.

Cycling Interest from Geffen presents oldies of the 1960s from cycling and touring sports, the association railway tradition its rides with the museum railway. Werner’s presents the latest wheels, and the stand of the reflective clothing factory Busman gives visitors an insight into the latest leisure and functional clothing. The bicycle can be found in its facets from Holland to the racing bike at Weird Wiesel, but also the modern e-bikes are ready.

Hussmann, the unicycle section of Victoria Carols with her show insert, the class 8 d bike school, and a balloon entertainer, who conjures up nice pieces for the little ones, will provide a varied entertainment program.

Satchels should be safe with reflective tape

Safety is particularly important in road traffic. “In the meantime, the manufacturers of school bags can integrate reflective tape and fluorescent surfaces into great motifs that are very well received by children,” explains Peter Seiner.

He recommends satchels, the surfaces of which are at least ten per cent of retro reflective material at the front and at the sides. This coating radiates back when it is lit. “A further 20 percent of school tuition space should have fluorescent materials that store light and release it only slowly,” the expert said. Because of the better visibility, retro reflective material is also required on the shoulder straps. The GS mark for tested safety as well as certification according to DIN 58124 is indications that the schoolbag has the most important safety features.

It is important to pay attention to ergonomics when purchasing, as the child’s back is more sensitive than that of adults. “The right satchel helps not to strain the back of the schoolchildren too much,” said Seiner. “He has – according to the ergonomic requirements – straps on both sides, which are at least 30 millimeters wide and do not cut at the neck.”

In order to comfortably adjust the satchel for the child, the straps are at least 50 cm long, can be adjusted continuously and are softly padded in the shoulder area. The satchel fits perfectly when it rests against both shoulder blades and closes the upper reflective edge of the shoulder bag with the shoulder height.

Things to keep in the car – safety equipment

Often, during a car breakdown, a longer trip, or even a daily drive, there is a shortage that, although apparently trivial, could solve the problem at once. So what is it worth to have with you to feel comfortable in almost every situation, but at the same time do not play a car?

Mandatory and recommended equipment of the car

The catalog of useful things in the car without a doubt should start with those whose possession is required by Polish law. They are a fire extinguisher and a warning triangle. You do not have to explain that having these things is an absolute minimum for security. When choosing a triangle, it is important to note that it has the appropriate approval mark. Such products have a large reflective surface, which significantly increases our safety.

We also need to take care of the proper condition of the fire extinguisher. – According to the law, the fire extinguisher should be kept in a proper condition so that it works efficiently and efficiently. Moreover, it should be placed in a place easily accessible if needed, explains Inspector Mares from the Police Headquarters. In many European countries a reflective vest is also compulsory. In Poland this is not necessary, which does not mean that this element is superfluous? Interestingly, the required items also do not include first aid – this is only a recommended item. Nevertheless, it should appear with the basic elements in our car.

Useful tools in case of damage to the car may seem like unnecessary ballast only to the first failure. It is always a good idea to keep the items in your car in an emergency. These items include, for example, a set of keys, a tow rope, a pocket knife and a rectifier. You need to adapt the kit to the car model – you only have to bring with you the tools by which we are able to correct minor defects themselves. – New car models in many cases are only able to fix the specialist. Therefore, if we are not convinced that we can fix the problem, it is better to call for help – says Pewee, Auto Express consultant. It may also be useful to have spare parts such as a wheel or bulbs. If you decide to repair the problem yourself, you should bring accessories that will make it easier for us to work with. So we should pack the work gloves with reflective tape, the blanket for the car, and the torch.

Get more traffic regulations before you get a mandate

The Polish and Norwegian road codes are very similar to each other. However, differences in legislation, such as those relating to speeding, can cost us even 9,000 crowns from police in safety vest. Before you go on a car trip in Norway, get to know the rules in place on the road.

Are you going on a car trip in Norway? It’s good! We have prepared a guide on the main road rules you should know before you go to the fjords country.

The majority of Norwegian road rules are similar to Polish because both Poland and Norway signed the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. One aspect of the convention is that the police have no right to punish a foreign driver for moving in a country-specific vehicle but not enough from the point of view of the state he passes through.

Any driver who drives a car in Norway should have the following documents: driving license, vehicle card, ID card or passport, proof of ownership of the vehicle and a document confirming that the car is insured.

Warning triangle yes, fire extinguisher is not necessarily

In every car that travels in Norway, there must be: high beam deflectors, warning triangle and reflective waistcoat. It is recommended to have a first aid kit and fire extinguisher, but this is not compulsory. According to the Norwegian road rules, the passing beam must be switched on throughout the year. All car passengers must have belts. In addition, Norwegian law requires children under 150 cm to travel in a child-sized seat.

How soon will you go?

Speed limit in built-up area is 50 km / h, in some built-up areas it is reduced to 30 km / h. On motorways and highways, vehicles less than 3.5 tones can travel at 90-100 km / h (around Oslo up to 110 km / h). On other roads the speed is limited to 80 km / h.

In Norway it is better not to exceed the speed limit. Too fast driving can cost you a dime. The amount of penalties ranges from 600 to 9 thousand. The amount of credentials is set out in the Penal Code for traffic offenses

In addition to the high seats for speeding, the police can also stop driving.

Mandates are already in effect for over 1 km! Do not drink alcohol; do not talk on the phone. Drivers who drive in Norway “on gas” are waiting for very high mandates. The permissible limit for alcohol in the blood is 0.2.

It applies to drivers of all vehicles, including bicycles.

Norwegian medicines, which should not be carried out, are marked with red triangle packaging with reflective tape. As in Poland, a driver in Norway can use a mobile phone while driving, but cannot hold it in his hand. Speaking through a headset is allowed.

Safety equipments of car for winter holidays

The requirements for the equipment of a car traveling on Polish roads are the result of the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure and should be known to all who have passed the driving test. In the car you need a fire extinguisher (approved, with valid expiry date) and a warning triangle. Without these two elements, police control can cost a lot – from 20 to 500 gold. Not all drivers know that there is no obligation to have a first aid kit or reflective vest, though it is worth having them in the car.

Meanwhile, traveling around Europe involves the necessity to have more useful elements, other than in Poland. For example: you do not have to have a fire extinguisher everywhere. It is not compulsory in Switzerland. It is hard to imagine that someone crossing the border will throw it out of the car.

It is therefore imperative that you add the following items to your vehicle’s equipment, generally improving safety in case of emergency or unforeseen problems. And so, the main thing you need when traveling – apart from a triangle and a fire extinguisher – is a reflective vest. It is mandatory in many countries of the European Union, including: Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Spain, France and Slovakia. In some countries, such as Germany or Austria, in the event of a breakdown, you must not leave the car without a vest on highways or motorways. Switzerland, on the other hand, is harsh in terms of warning triangles, as regulations require two such security measures.

The absolutely unknown law in Poland is the necessity to carry spare bulbs with you. Many drivers from our country have them “just in case” but there are countries where they need to have them. This applies, inter alia, to Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Italy.

Scandinavian countries are not allowed to ride on “bald tires” – the tread thickness must be at least 1.6 millimeters, and in Spain blind drivers must drive in the car a second pair of glasses. Mountainous countries, in turn, require snow chains and require them to be used on certain roads.

The most restrictive and demanding country for motorized tourists is our neighboring Slovakia. Road law is exceptionally detailed in it. In addition to obvious requirements – such as having a triangle or fire extinguisher, you need to have spare fuses, bulbs, full-sized wheels, a lift, a wrench, and a tow rope. First aid kit in this country must be equipped with slices, dressings, isothermal foil, rubber gloves with reflective tape, safety pins and elastic bands.

The regulations on the compulsory equipment of the car in each country are slightly different, so before each trip make sure that we absolutely should take with us on the road.

What are black boxes for and why are they called

The black boxes are the name by which the safety devices that register the conversations of the cabin in an airplane and the behavior of the instruments are denominated. These devices are key in determining the reasons for aerial accidents, such as the one that occurred on Tuesday in Colombia, when the plane crashed in which the Brazilian team moved Chaperones to play in the final of the Cope.

The black boxes were invented by David Warren more than fifty years ago, while working in the Aeronautical Research Laboratory of the Australian Department of Defense. These boxes are subjected to impact tests of up to 3,500 kilos, of immersion under pressure of up to 6,000 meters and temperatures of up to 1,000 degrees Celsius. In general two of these devices go in the back of the aircraft.

The devices are covered with bright paint with striking colors like orange and reflective tape. In addition they have an ultrasonic locator beacon and emits every 30 seconds a pulse that can be detected to more than 4 kilometers.

As for why they are called black boxes, there are different versions. One of them is that its name is due to the tragic fact and mourning that involves an accident. Another theory is that it is because the information contained therein cannot be altered in any way, except for specialized teams of air safety agencies.

Reflective safety clothing for Cross-country

Since the autumn is already in full swing, we’ve tested everything you need to keep you away, but they did not cook in their own juice.

The main role will be long ladies’ trousers. From the point of view, nothing interesting – black leggings. They are made of flexible hard reflective material (it is not cold and fast drying) and have a sophisticated cut, especially in the area of the knees and thighs, which makes them perfectly suited, they do not roll anywhere. In the back of the legs there is a zipper that makes them better dressed.

Plus, there is a small internal key pocket, money or handkerchief to solve the unpleasant question of “where to go”. Minuses are the absence of a larger zip pocket, but the pants from the new collection have already. The evening runs are definitely not reflective tapes (for H & M typical) that extend across the length of their thighs. The only downside to my trousers is in the lower saddle – after a longer run, the trousers are slightly down. Not that they fall, but somebody may not be nice. Leggings from the new collection are now higher and can be pulled down on the string.

The shirt with a long sleeve and hood pleased me most. It is produced in two color variants – gray-pink and gray-black with a batik pattern. (These colors go through half of the current collection.) Sitting perfectly on the body, but not too tight, the sleeves are long and fitted with a hole for the thumb (ideal for winter-wise women). The hood is the ideal solution if you feel cold when running. You do not have to wear a hat with your hood to replace it well (when it does not fall off your head) and whenever you can take it off. The material is very pleasant too: soft and thin, slightly soaked on the underside so it is pleasant but not hot. He also sweats well and dries quickly.

The reflective vest can be dressed in a t-shirt or in the winter in the wind. Clearly the most varied piece I’ve enjoyed many times on a bike, cross-country skiing or on a trip when the weather changed. Its greatest advantage is lightness and storage, easily put into your pocket or kidney. It’s made of soft polyester with a soft finish, so it does not work “plastic” and it does not blow too much in motion.

Relatively well protects against bulging; Stronger winds penetrate the fabric, but it can be more when running (and with regard to sweat drainage). A slightly looser cut allows you to wear your waistcoat even over your sweatshirt, while the extended length of the back will ensure that it does not “reach your kidneys”. The bottom hem is also rubberized, so the waist keeps on the sides and does not climb upwards. The front has a reflective strap across the length of the zip and reflective headband, a smaller reflective tape and a spacious pocket on the back. It goes hand in hand with the phone without bothering to jump from side to side. The mesh fabric on the back is swept away where it is most needed at the run, and the vest does not stick to it on the back.

The police will give the seniors reflective bags

See and be seen. A well-known rule for car drivers is also valid for all pedestrians. If outside the village they will move under reduced visibility, visible reflective elements must be visible. If they do not, they are facing a two-thousand-dollar block penalty.

The relevant amendment to the Road Act has already been signed by the President and will start to apply after it comes out in the Collection of Laws around mid-February.

What is important, however, is that reflexive elements will not be mandatory at night only. The resulting version of the law stipulates that pedestrians must “light” also at dusk, fog, snow or more rain, even in the day.

The law does not say how the reflection element should look exactly or what the minimum size should be. “It is not so important for police officers to choose a specific reflective element for pedestrians to make them visible in road traffic, but whether the purpose has been achieved and the pedestrian is visible for the other visitor visibility,” says Police spokesman Josef Boca.

The size matters

According to Romano Boesky of the Road Safety Team, however, the reflection area should be large enough. “As a minimum, I consider the dimensions of a high-quality reflective tape, which is to be placed over the wrist, or even above the ankle on the side facing the center of the road,” according to expert studies, pedestrians with reflective accessories placed on moving parts of the body. The luminescent points react roughly three times before the reflective surfaces are statically located on the hull, “explains Boesky. At the same time, he appeals to a suitable color, for example, worse experience is with white tapes. Walkers with a white belt, though, fulfill their duty, but the drivers are less responsive to them. “The figure on the roadside can easily blend in with a white horizontal traffic sign, its role is played by the white color of public lighting or headlamps of anti-traffic vehicles,” Boesky says.

Project “We See”

In the beginning, the pedestrian police do not want to scare off and hand down fines. In cooperation with beside, policemen launched the project “We See”, where patrols are handed out free of charge to reflective vests or tapes. “If a traffic police patrol shows a visually impaired pedestrian who moves directly on the road, the need to be seen, “says Boca.

In the first phase, 100,000 bands were handed out and this year the police and the Basic workers give out another quarter of a million tapes. “At the same time, we received fifty thousand reflective bags for seniors,” adds Boca. Bags and tapes are paid from the damages fund managed by the Czech Insurers’ Bureau.

Keep running with reflective material for safety

Each person can run, it’s a natural activity. Regular runners still increasing, which is great? If you belong among those who in reflective vest would like to run around on a regular basis, then this article is for you.

Why start running:

  1. You have a better mood
  2. Reduce the risk of osteoporosis
  3. Lose
  4. Running in fourth anytime, anywhere
  5. Its costly and time-efficient sport
  6. Improves your digestion
  7. Improve in other sports where endurance is needed basis
  8. Strengthen immunity
  9. Will know new places and your four-legged friend

What may be missing in the equipment runner?

– Functional clothes with good moisture

(T-shirt, long sleeve, bottom-shirt, shorts, pants or leggings, windbreaker, soft-shell jacket)

– Running shoes

– Headlamp

Reflective tape or flashing light

– Small backpack, fanny pack or pocket on the arm

– Headband

– Gloves

How to dress?

When running reliably heats up, so do not be afraid to run with a slight feeling of winter. Look at the thermometer and add to 10 degrees depending on the dress =). A few minutes it will be cold, but after a while you will run nicely. If you know that after you have run out, take your reflective backpack in one layer in addition.

Warm-up

Before you rush out, it is good to be at least somewhat limber and warm up. Your ankles, Jump on the spot, do a few squats, anything, to feel that you are not stiff.

Time

Always start to run at a slower pace, you can, but you do not gradually accelerate. Runner’s beginners can combine running and fast walking. Listen to your body and do not try to break records the first time.

Distance

Maybe you and want to bamboozle the edge of the world, but not overdo it, your body has to get used and it would be a pity just the beginning injure or over train.

Highlights the importance of wearing reflective band

Still applies to “see and be seen.” Visibility of pedestrians and cyclists is one of the key moments of their safety. The focus should be on the consistent use of retro reflective elements, it is good that today are aware of the manufacturers of clothing and footwear and lots of sports items of clothing already has incorporated these elements of production.

In addition, this year is in effect the amendment of the operation where the movement outside the illuminated portion of villages and towns, the use of reflective materials required. But worth mentioning is also the lighting control functionality on our wheeled darlings. And these are bicycles, motorcycles and cars. It is good to check if everything is lit as it should, if possible, get your check if we have the headlights properly adjusted. With wrong oncoming headlights can dazzle, but does not have lights lit up the necessary distance. Worn light dish or plastic housing dimmed considerably reduces the efficiency of light. Even the bulbs need to be replaced after several years.

Increasingly, we will also meet mostly with morning fog and driving in fog is one of the most dangerous. But that’s probably all aware of them.

Slowly changing, stability and weather related adhesion. Wet road in the evening or in the morning has fewer grips than in the rain. And to that we would fall leaves from the trees and it was really slippery, braking can have in extreme cases up to several times longer braking distances.

Therefore, among other things, it is worth checking the tread depth on tires, hot in summer and when loaded the car on the way to vacation wear out much faster than in normal operation. Worn tire combined with the slippery road, it is a deadly cocktail.

After the holidays is probably the most people rested than during the current year. Therefore, they should be seen on the roads and sidewalks just calm, smiling and concentrating people. Unfortunately, this is but usually not.

Stress at work after returning, piled and unfulfilled tasks dispatching children to school and have to trouble-laws or envious neighbor, they can play even with individual. To sum up in one sentence, calm and smiling, with the vehicle in proper condition, knowing the risks of autumn and the eternal problem of visibility we feel on the road much better and safer.

“We are?” – We want to see you next time!

“Every lost life is wasted, especially when many accidents can be easily avoided. Therefore, BPA sport marketing company decided to support the campaign “We are?” Reflective vest can save lives not only fans who returns home after dark from a hockey match, “explains Jana – Chairman and CEO of BPA.

“Sport is an ideal form of education, and we are pleased to be involved in promoting traffic safety. Each of us is a driver and realizes that extending reflective elements to help the company to greater safety on our roads, “explains Chairman HC Sparta reasons why the campaign also supported his team.

Patrick Karmas, managing director of PSG Slim, adds: “We care about the safety of fans not only during the hockey game, but also the way to the stadium and back. The campaign” We are? “Has a great sense of safety, so we fully support.”

Mark Chile and Team HC Ocular Trine: “Security is not only our fans, for us, a very important thing. Hockey matches usually ends at a time when it is dark outside, and therefore consider campaign promoting reflective elements, and thus better visibility of pedestrians, as very valuable. ”

“It’s not just an obligation for pedestrians to use reflective elements, which is valid from February 20 this year. We want to be reflective tape or other reflective elements become as commonplace as in winter gloves or hats. It’s a small thing, which is, however, the value of human life, “says the head of Road Safety Pastor Martin and adds:

“After every match and in the winter on matches is heading to stadiums tens of thousands of people. We are therefore pleased that, thanks to the clubs every stadium will be able to remind fans that the reflective tape them can save lives. “
