Insert the reflective vest into the storage compartment

Reflective vest – in Poland, passenger car drivers do not have to have it, but they should. It costs only PLN 7-10 and can save a life. In most European countries, reflective vests are mandatory equipment for cars and trucks (in some also motorcycles).

From 1 July, the obligation to have a vest was introduced in Germany. Its lack means a mandate of 15 Euros. The obligation applies only to drivers of cars registered in Germany, but for the sake of their own safety, it is also worth respecting them with us. In countries where vests are compulsory, they must be worn whenever the driver and passengers have to leave the vehicle, for example as a result of a breakdown or accident, on a highway or other road – except of course parking lots.

Reflective vests are already valid in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic (applies to foreigners), Croatia, Finland (you can have reflective stripes), France, Spain, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary and in Italy. The regulations are not uniform – in one country, you only need one vest in the car and in others, and all passengers must have it. In some countries, this obligation also applies to motorcyclists and cyclists, if they are traveling on roads after dusk.

We advise you not to look for loopholes and apply the maximum variant – take as many retro-reflective vests as possible for the number of passengers traveling. The vest costs from 7 to 10 zlotys. You can buy it at every gas station, in supermarkets, on the internet. Let us just remember to meet the norm – reflective vests are allowed in 3 colors: yellow, orange or red-orange. It must also have 2 reflective stripes at the front and back.

When buying vests, do not forget about children, in the event of a car breakdown or an accident, they will be particularly vulnerable. Reflective vests must be carried in the cabin of the car, and not – as most drivers do – in the trunk. The idea is to be able to put on a high visibility vest before leaving the car. We would also like to remind you: in the event of a breakdown or accident, a warning triangle should be put in front of the car; passengers should get out of the car not on the road, only on the right side, on the roadside. It is not allowed to stay on the road without having to go down to the side or the barrier as soon as possible.

Police in safety vest said the driver would not lose his penalties

In June 2018, regulations will become effective, thanks to which, after obtaining 24 penalty points, the police in reflective vest will not take their driving license right away.

In the case of committing a traffic offense, the police officer not only lists the ticket, but also imposes an appropriate number of penalty points. The driving license will lose drivers who exceed the 24-point limit, and its recovery is possible only after re-checking qualifications in all categories. If the driver has a driving license for less than a year, the point limit is 20.

Currently, people who have penalties on their account can take training at their own cost to reduce their number. This does not apply only to drivers within one year from the date of issuing a driving license for the first time. In this way, you can reduce the account by six points, and such training can take place no more than once every six months. The training organized by the Road Traffic Center is PLN 300.

From June 4, 2018, when changes are due to take effect, after exceeding 24 penalty points, the driver will not automatically lose his rights. He will be directed to a special training, but if he does not take part in it within one month of the delivery of the administrative decision, then he will say goodbye to the driving license.

The training is to last, a total of 28 hours, and the driver must reserve four days for it. The cost is PLN 500, and after its completion, the account with penalty points will be zeroed. Participants will be acquainted with the theory and will be subjected to psychological research. You need to know that you cannot pass more than 6 weeks from referral to the course to recover the document. After completing the course, you will not be able to take part in it for the next five years. If the driver again exceeds the 24-point limit, he will lose his license. He will have to go to the course and pass the exam.

After the changes, the police officer in safety clothing will be able to punish the driver with a maximum of 10 penalty points, regardless of the number of offenses committed.

He died on the first day of the year, hit by a car

Deadly accident happened on the first day of the year, in Timisoara. A man walking on a bicycle without reflective vest lost his life after being hit by a car in the early hours of the morning.

It all happened on Monday morning around 6 o’clock. The 50-year-old man was riding a bike on Calera in Timisoara. However, as he did not wear the reflective safety vest, a driver did not notice him in time and hit him in full.

“A 37-year-old man was driving a car on Lego Road, from Remote to Timisoara, and at one point he had a 50-year-old biker. Following the accident, the 50-year-old man died, “said Acute Murrain, spokesperson for IPJ Times.

The doctors immediately came to the scene of the accident, but they could not do anything to save his life. Now the cops in reflective uniforms have opened a criminal case for guilty murder and are going to find out exactly how the tragedy happened.

10 mistakes not to do if the car stops on the highway

If you remain applauded during a journey, you should not lose your temper and know how to behave, an error could have serious consequences. These are potentially dangerous situations, especially if in the dark of the evening or night, the reflective vest is necessary for safety, often dealing with non-illuminated sections and the speed is much higher than the city streets.

  1. DO NOT MISS THE CALM

Staying stuck is always annoying, even worse if you are traveling with your family and the car loaded with luggage. The first advice is to maintain calm and clarity, we must quickly think about what to do to get in safety and not become a danger to other drivers. So stay calm and try to cheer your passengers, especially if there are children on board, a crisis of collective panic could lead to wrong maneuvers or actions.

  1. NEVER PUSH THE CAR

If traveling on the highway the car should fail, it will hardly stop suddenly, unless some serious mechanical failure. If the car is switched off during the march, we use the embrace to reach or get as close as possible to the emergency lane or if possible, an emergency stop. Never get out of the car with the intent to push it, it would put at risk their own and others’ safety. Better turn on the four arrows, take cover behind the guardrail (always come down from the right side of the car and pay attention to the viaducts) and signal to the cars that come along the possible roadway occupied by the damaged vehicle.

  1. HIGH VISIBILITY VEST

When it is necessary to get off the car stationary on the roadway or on the emergency lane and in any case outside the inhabited areas, at night and in conditions of poor visibility, it is compulsory to wear a high visibility vest or reflective shoulder straps. Since the obligation also applies to passengers who have to leave the car temporarily. The jacket must always be worn, even if you plan to get out of the car for a few seconds. The advice, given the low cost of protection, is to keep at least two vests aboard and store them in a place easy to reach, perhaps in the pockets of the doors and one on each side. Failure to comply with the obligation is sanctioned up to € 169 and a reduction of 2 points on the license.

  1. THE TRIANGLE THIS UNKNOWN

Beyond the reflective vest is mandatory to have on board an approved type triangle. Keep in mind that the triangle is usually stored inside the boot, often in the spare wheel well, so if you travel with a car full of luggage, access is problematic. If you have to leave the car quickly, first you can secure the passengers behind the guardrail and maybe later retrieve it while another passenger, wearing the high visibility vest, acts as a warning to the cars that arrive.

  1. EMERGING THE ROAD

If our car has stopped during the march, it will be difficult to restart it; it less than being mechanical and having spare parts and tools on board; there are few operations and interventions that we can carry out in the hope of resuming the march. Keep in mind that a car on the edge of the carriageway or in an emergency lane is still a potential hazard and must be removed as soon as possible and in any case within three hours of being stopped.

  1. CALLING THE ROAD RESCUE

Therefore, you need to call an emergency service and request the dispatch of a tow truck, which will remove the car and allow us to repair in a safer place of the road. Given the costs of the service, it is certainly convenient to take out insurance with one of the many companies that provide the roadside assistance service.

  1. KNOW YOUR POSITION

When calling the roadside assistance it is essential to know and communicate the exact point where you are with the car. You can take advantage of the progressive hexametrical signs placed on the left side of the roadway, these report every 100 meters kilometers and hundreds of meters (in Roman numbers) traveled from the beginning of the motorway section or missing at the end of the motorway if traveled from the point end. Using a Smartphone, if you are in an area covered by the operator, you can send the rescuers the exact location using the GPS if present in the terminal.

  1. AUTOSTOP FORBIDDEN

Once you have left the car and if you are traveling alone, you might be tempted to ask another driver for a ride and maybe leave our car with the four arrows and the triangle in place. Know that it is a dangerous mistake and is also prohibited by the Highway Code, to stop a motorist for a ride would create a potentially dangerous situation for traffic and it is easy to imagine the consequences of a rear-end collision.

  1. PREVENT TROUBLES AND MISCELLANEOUS

A sudden failure can occur on any car, but on a car in perfect working order, the odds are certainly minor. Therefore, it is advisable to check your car carefully, check the levels, the battery efficiency, and proceed with a possible change of oil and filters.

10 A KIT TO KEEP IN CAR

In addition to mandatory signaling devices, it is a good idea to have on board an emergency kit, simple but useful tools that you need to have at your fingertips. The ideal safety kit should include a flashlight with batteries, disposable gloves, battery cables, a set of spare bulbs for the light clusters, a first aid box, a set of tools, of the adhesive tape (it is useful to fix something that has broken in place). It is convenient to equip your car with one or more USB sockets to allow you to charge cell phones if necessary, perhaps taking care to always leave a cable suitable for charging on board.

High visibility vest mandatory on board

A government decree will oblige motorcyclists to bring along the already widespread reflective vest on cars and trucks starting from 1 January.

With the decree number 514/2015, last May 7, the French government introduced the obligation for all motorcyclists (including quad and three wheel pilots) to have on board a high visibility vest while they are driving.

Naturally, there is no obligation to wear it, even if the hi visibility clothing culture for safety reasons, especially in the city, is more common than in Italy. However, simply to take it with you to use it, similarly to what happens with cars and trucks (in the photo the campaign for transalpine safety, testimonial of the fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld) in the event of an emergency stop if you have to get off the vehicle at the side of the road.

A maneuver does not affect us. However, remember to bring safety vest with you that you normally leave by car if you plan trips to the French land starting from 1 January…

Decree that reflective vest in safety kit of all vehicles

The initiative will take effect on January 1, 2016, considering an infraction for not wearing the reflective vest in the car that will constitute a slight fault.

A driver is exposed to being run over when he descends from his vehicle because of a technical breakdown, especially if the emergency occurs during low light or at night. Faced with this problem, the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications announced a new decree that will require the wearing of a reflective vest on the vehicle, in order to make the driver more visible in case he must descend from the vehicle to attend an emergency.

On the occasion, the Minister of Transport, Andrés Gomez-Lobo, explained “the lack of visibility is the main factor that affects the occurrence of the abuses in low-light hours, so we are promoting the use of reflective material for protect people’s lives and prevent accidents.” In addition, Minister Gomez-Lobo called for self-care: “Before getting off the vehicle in case of emergency, put on the reflective vest. It will make you visible and it can save your life, “said the minister.

The executive secretary of Cohasset, Francisca said, “More time of vision implies a greater reaction time of the motorist. As an example: a person is visible at night at only 40 meters, which means that a driver walking at 65 kilometers per hour could not stop in time. With the reflective vest on, the person is visible from more than 150 meters and with high lights even from about 400 meters. ”

This new decree adds the reflective vest to the other safety elements that must be found in each motorized vehicle to deal with emergencies, such as the safety triangle. The high visibility vest must contain both fluorescent and retro reflective material, and must always be carried in a location on the vehicle that is accessible from inside, such as the glove compartment, so that the driver gets off the vehicle and wearing the vest.

The decree will come into effect on January 1, 2016, considering an infraction for not wearing the vest in the car that will constitute a slight fault, which translates into a fine of 0.2 to 0.5 UTM.

FIGURES

In the last ten years, more than 6,000 people have been killed in Chile and only in 2013; the number of pedestrians who died in traffic accidents was 631. According to international experiences, the use of reflective elements significantly reduces the number of people killed.

What fine can you get if you do not wear the vest in the car?

It is advisable to take a scraper to remove ice, a flashlight, and a bottle of water or a first aid kit. In addition to being very useful in case of accident or any other unforeseen, carry certain accessories in our car is mandatory. So much so, that if we do not carry the approved triangles or the reflective vest can lead to a fine of 200 Euros.

The triangles will serve to signal to the other vehicles that ours is broken and, therefore, must be careful and slow down. They are placed at a distance of 50 meters, both in front of and behind the car. In the case of roadways with more than two lanes per direction or one way, only it will be necessary to put it in the back.

The reflective safety vest, meanwhile, is mandatory to get out of the vehicle in case of emergency stop. In addition, it is advisable to take more than one, in case the stop occurs when we travel with more people. Another reason why we can take home a fine of 200 Euros is not to carry in the vehicle any system that allows us to continue the march in the event of a puncture, such as a spare wheel or an anti-puncture kit.

There are other accessories that, although it is not mandatory to take them in the car, they can be very useful in case of emergency. This is the case of spare lamp kits, a scraper to remove ice on Monday in winter, gloves to withstand the cold in the case of having to change a wheel or put the chains, a blanket in case we get stuck in the snow, a rag, a bottle of water, an anti-fog spray and caloric foods. In winter, we should not forget to carry strings by hand.

In addition, if we travel, whatever the season in which we do it, it is advisable to bring a small safety kit, a fire extinguisher, boot clips, American tape and some tools to change a wheel in case of a puncture. Finally, never forget to bring a mobile phone charger, all the documentation, and a handy assistance number.

Emergency personnel dressed safety vest in an accident simulation

The police in safety vest of Different safety and emergency forces of Navarra participated this Thursday in a simulation of an accident and subsequent fire in the tunnel of Leiden of the A-21 Autodial Perrine. The event, which has been coordinated by the Civil Protection Service of the Government of Navarra, aims to verify the effectiveness of the implementation of the Emergency Plan for Tunnels (PETNA) of the Road Network of Navarra.

In addition to the troops mentioned above, in today’s practice, the 18 students is being developed at the School of Safety and Emergencies of Navarra between October 9 and on November 28. The activity is carried out in the scenario of the so-called singular infrastructures and is included in the module ‘Direction, command and control of emergencies’ of the program of the course.

The simulation of this Friday is included within the strategy of verification of the Emergency Plan for road safety. Directive 2004/54 / EC establish that tunnels of more than 500 meters in length must have emergency response plans. Although Navarra does not have a similar regional norm, the Government of Navarre has a plan that includes the minimum-security requirements established in that Directive.

In addition to the simulation that took place, the Department of the Presidency, Public Function, Interior and Justice developed last Tuesday, November 14, a technical day of emergencies and security to present to the operative groups the draft of the Emergency Plan in Tunnels of the road network of Navarra.

Emergencies that may arise within a tunnel’s facilities are cataloged on a scale of 0 to 3, from least to greatest severity. Among the incidents of level 0, conditions that occur in the normal use of road infrastructure are classified, such as water leaks, meteorological incidents or obstacles in the siding. Level 1 encompasses the conditions that only require police assistance, for example, incidents that require traffic regulation. Within the level two emergencies, in addition to police assistance, other means of intervention in emergencies (health care, rescue, rescue, logistical support, etc.) participate. Finally, in an emergency of level 3, a more serious range, exceptional means intervene.

The risk involved in traffic through a tunnel is related to both the length and the number of vehicles that circulate through it. Following this aspect, in Navarra, the steps are those that have an appreciable emergency risk.

There are a series of guidelines that should be followed at the time of suffering or finding an accident inside a tunnel. As a first step, you have to turn on the emergency lights and stop the engine. Before leaving the vehicle, it is necessary to put on the reflective vest and after that go to request help, using the SOS poles or by calling 112.

What to do if your car leaves you lying

Although it may seem obvious what we have to do, there are really certain protocols that will help us a lot. It has happened to all of us. In the place and at the most inopportune moment, the car leaves us stranded. Many times, we did not see it coming without any reflective elements, other times it could have been prevented.

Although it may seem obvious what we have to do in these cases, there are really certain protocols that will help us a lot. If your car has not left you lying in a long time, it does not hurt for you to prevent yourself with these tips to avoid setbacks.

  1. Intermittent

The first thing you should do when detecting any fault, is to put intermittent. It is not the same as grabbing you in a small street, that in a main avenue, and even on the road. The turn signals are the first signal that warns other motorists that you are stopped or something is happening. Especially if you are in main avenues, it is essential to warn and alert to avoid accidents.

  1. Signaling

Ideally, all vehicles have their safety equipment in the trunk: the emergency triangles and the reflective vest. After the intermittent, stay in your vehicle until you consider it safe to get off to put the signs. Remember that, in order to fulfill their function, you need to put the triangles at a distance of 50 meters in front and 50 meters behind your car.

  1. Move your car to a safe area

You already warned that you are arrested. However, look for a safe place to go. If your car is stopped, consider asking for help so they can push it in neutral speed. You do not know how long it will take you to restart, so make sure you try as far as possible to get around.

  1. Review and make the relevant calls

Maybe someone can read certain engine signals. For example, if the lights are OK, but the engine does not run, the problem could be in the engine. Alternatively, on the contrary, if the lights are low or do not turn on, it could be the battery. Nevertheless, the advisable thing is that you have the contact of a trusted mechanic or your insurer always at hand. Even if you feel tempted to move, know what it is, solve it quickly, it is better not to assume things, and wants to resolve them your way.

Although the battery may seem simple, doing it wrong can cause damage to other parts of the vehicle.

  1. Relax and pay attention

Most of the time, the experience can leave us a bit upset. However, things can get worse if you are not calm and focused. From leaving the keys inside, until deciding not to wait so long and prefer that anyone look, both decisions are hasty and risky. Wear a safety vest on the roadside and wait the police to deal with the accidents.

  1. Schedule your next revision.

Before anything else happens, and without thinking too much, schedule your next revisions to avoid surprises as much as possible.

He never received the reflective vest from company

The Court of Labor Letters of Iquique accepted in all its parts the claim for compensation of damages filed by a worker against the company Concessions Iquique SA, he was injured without any reflective clothing on road, for the moral damage suffered after being run over while performing “parking operator” duties in a street in the city.

In the ruling, Judge Marcela accepted the legal action presented by the plaintiff and ordered the company to pay 100 million pesos. The affected one recount in the legal action that a vehicle parked unexpectedly opened its door to the sector of the street and hit it. When falling, another vehicle in circulation overwhelmed him, since he did not notice his presence because he was not wearing a reflective vest, which the company never gave him.

Then he received first aid to remove it from under the vehicle that hit him and was transferred to a health center. However, the situation did not stop there. In his arguments, he maintains that a consequence of the injury suffered, and after months in which he could not be intimate with his spouse, “he realized that he also suffers, that is, the inability to feel orgasms, so that his sex life has seen completely destroyed, only by the negligence of his former employer, “explains the text.

For that reason, the ruling concluded, “in effect, it is an obligation of means, since it consists in adopting reasonable measures of prevention, without being able to demand an effective and absolute avoidance of occupational accidents. Since the expression effectively employs Article 184 of the Labor Code, refers to the conditions that the employer must maintain for the worker. It must be designed to achieve a real and accurate protection of the life and health of the worker in the performance of their work, that are useful and apt for such effects, all of which is not appreciated by the defendant, according to the evidence rendered and analyzed as a whole, in the light of sound criticism.” About the safety equipment, the company needs to equip it for every worker for their safe.
